I'm looking to get a laptop for college. Any suggestions?

-- I'm most likely bringing my desktop, so I don't need some desktop replacement laptop. I'm looking for something relatively small/portable (ultraportables are acceptable, netbooks are not)
-- For a CPU, I prefer an Intel C2D (or newer)
-- I hate Acer, Dell and Gateway
-- I don't really want a mac, sorry Apple fans; not hatin', just a preference
-- I like Vista, Ultimate edition preferred (32bit or 64bit doesn't really matter)
-- At least 2GB of RAM, more highly preferred (DDR2 or DDR3 doesn't really matter)
-- Screen size: 13in or smaller
-- Weight: Let's just say 5 pounds is highly pushing it
-- Camera preferred
-- Fingerprint reader would be cool (though does anyone know how useful it actually is?)
-- HDMI-out would be snazzy
-- Blueray drive would also be snazzy (my desktop doesn't have a BR drive, nor do I have a PS3 or standalone)
-- I don't really care for an SSD.. I think I'd prefer more GB space; but who knows
-- To be honest, I prefer the little eraser head over a trackpad, but either is fine (or both)... multitouch trackpad would also be snazzy
-- Price: Eh, nothing over $3000.. but I think anything in the 2000s is still pushing it. lol

So I've been lookin' at a lot of Sonys lately, but when customized to everything I want, they're hella expensive. So I've also been lookin' at some Lenovos and ASUSes. Let me know if you guys find anything. Thanks

the fingerprint readers are junk.
Funny story: my buddy had one on his hp and i simply took the middle digit of my finger and ran it across a few times and it let me in. he didn't believe me and i told my other buddy to do it and it worked for him too lol.

Go for an HP. They look nice and they can get you all the features you need in your price range.

I would've said a Mac since it's in the price range and it's awesome... but Lenovo is def the way to go for a PC laptop. The most durable, long lasting notebook I own is a Lenovo. Also, the fingerprint reader on Lenovo notebooks aren't like the ones Camdog is talking about because you can't get into the computer without the right one. It's nice to have but you may get tired of it like I did, but I know people who use it.


Also, I'd like to know what you have against Macs. I mean I know I didn't like them either till I got my hands on one and then ended up buying one of my own.
