I have a Benq modded drive that has died.
I want to replace it with another drive. IF I order a Benq drive and have my files from modding it.
(Orig.bin) How do I put the old bin on the new drive?

Any help would be great,

DOSFlash works fine for that purpose. Boot it up, locate your BenQ DVD drive, then select the "Write" option and point it to the orig.bin file.

That's what I did to a friend's drive when I fucked up flashing lol

I will try to find "DOSFLASH".

I found the Benq drives for about 30 bucks shipped.
I will order TWO on Friday. I will report the progress when arrived.

if you replace it with the same drive just take out the pc board from the old and put it in the new.this way all the modded fw will be on the new drive.99% of drive failures are mechanical or the lazer.i have a chip in mine but have replaced the drive 3 times now with no problems.

Hey timstim,

That is a good idea but flashing is easier! (With the Frosty disc anyway).
It is the drive motor. This is a very old xbox with a lot of hours.

Why make it harder then it is?
He has his bin files etc.

Just hook up your new drive make a firmware with the correct key and flash it with jungleflasher.
