Hi I was trying to install Xbox media center when I accidently deleted the dashboard file and how it keeps getting stuck at the Xbox logo it still plays games but I would like to see my beautiful dashboard again can any one help.
Heimdall
How is the Xbox modded? If it's softmodded, which softmod did you use? Which file did you delete?
halkeye2309
sorry its a Krayzie Ndure, splinter cell softmod and i think i deleted the defalt.xbe
Heimdall
That's easy to fix. Presumably the LED is still turning yellow, so just cold boot a rescue disc (Frosty's is ideal) and use ftp to replace the file you deleted - E:\dashboard\default.xbe.

Thanks but frostys rescue disc didn’t work any other suggestions.
Heimdall
If the LED isn't turning yellow then the softmod isn't working, and you need to start again. This post explains how.

the LED still turning to the default green colour but it stops cold at the Xbox logo with Microsoft down the bottom it still plays games including burnt ones so I now the soft mod hasn’t stopped working its just the dash doesn’t load up.
Heimdall
That makes absolutely no sense. If you used Krayzie then unless you changed it from default the LED is yellow when the softmod is working, and if it's green then it isn't working. Also, if it will boot backup games it will boot Frosty's - maybe you need to burn a new copy of Frosty's?

I have 4 times now

will a dvd-rw work
Heimdall
They never work for me - DVD-R is generally the most reliable, burned at 4x or slower, using DVD Decrypter v 3.5.4.0 to burn the image.

Before you waste any more discs, are you sure backup games still work?

If they don't and the Krayzie gamesave is still on the disk, just load the exploitable game and launch the Krayzie gamesave, and repair the softmod from there.

back up games still work and the exploit isent there
