Hehe nice smile.gif
I should be building a new computer in the near future as well (~1month i hope). Was thinking of going for the Athlon 3000+, or better (if prices drop by then) - but nice job on your comp, it'll satisfy your computing needs a while smile.gif

well, as always, with a new computer, there are these stupid monday details that have to be worked out. Im more stressed than relieved that i have this machine - for temp i have a 13" monitor that makes me squint and my eyes hurt, i cant configure my local area network to share files, and the CD burner DIED right away....oh yeah and i lost all my progs and shortcuts and docs and pron...i mean, art videos from my old computer...

mad.gif mad.gif i want my old computer back, its slower but no hassle sad.gif

Beautiful Machine.

Gotta love the NForce2's integrated 5.1 sound.

god damn it computers suck... (ironic as im a comp sci major...)... too expensive for my liking, at least stays super up-to-date... i remember when 150mb was considered fast... with 16 megs memory...

I meant the transfer from new to old computer.

Get yourself a nice 19" Viewsonic or Samsung, 13" is a real shame.. (had the same for a few years.)
brahm2
yeah...im gonna get a 17" LCD tomorrow...Albatron. Apparently they make them in the ukraine. if thats what you meant by rushed, you're right. I thought this suck monitor would do (well i guess its ok for a day dry.gif )

one thing i really like is my Macrosoft Multimedia KB - not too many buttons, i like the play and stop and tracking all at my fingertips. not to mention email, internet shortcuts as well
Raised
Is the Albatron any good? Did you try some games/dvds on it in the store?
brahm2
i dont know if its good, i do know that its fairly cheap for a 17" LCD.

its 589 CAN, thats 650 CAN with applicable taxes

pretty good deal if you ask me
Raised
Really man, you should check it out in person before you buy it. If the refresh rate is bad, playing games will be less enjoyable.

Check out http://www.pricenetwork.ca/index.asp for prices.

You could also buy you gear from ncix.com, and pay only 7% GST on your order since its out of your province.

ive heard/read good things about liteon burners. if yours died, get one of those.
and theres a BenQ 17" LCD with 16ms response time (fast i think) for only $478 Canadian at this local store. mebbe you can find one of those too.
jesterrace777
Yeah Lite-On burners are good. Of course nothing beats a good DVD Burner. wink.gif
CaliSurfer008
I think i might build another one but with a P4 ph34r.gif

it'll be the 1st time i've ventured into Intel chips...hope they do me good...
