Hello everyone, I'm not sure if should post this in this section but anyway...

I used hddhackr 1.0 with the 120GB hddss.bin and the result was: LBA size does not match... after lot of research and thinking (yes I've got a brain) I did/tried the following:

I've been able to do/change the following succefully:
  • changed LBA size from 312,581,808 (160.04gb) to 234,441,648 (120.04gb) on 48-bit LBA mode.
  • changed LBA-bit from 48-bit to 28-bit.
  • changed HPA from enabled to none (removed).
Result: 360 won't recognize the HDD.

HDD Info:
WD1600BEVT-75ZCT
FIRMWARE: 11.0
LBA size it came with: 312,579,695 (48-bit) ** There was a 2mb hidden/protected HPA **
** Zeroed/Wiped the HD ** and then restored full LBA: 312,581,808 (48-bit)

Any help regarding the LBA size does not match... error, post here or PM me.

Peace.

I was thinking... it might be a good idea for you to share, either 0.91B or the which address are we suppose to hex edit and which version to hex edit.

PS: Just a suggestion.

0.91b seems to have disappeared off the planet. im using 1.00 because 0.91 tells me to use a wd scorpio which i am, just a scorpio blue....

i dont know... im lost. LBA size does not match.
steevyhead
i found 0.91b using auto xbins

here is the link...

now just to see if it works.

I seem to have the same problem with the LBA size error. That's about the only other message I get. Is there anything else that can be done to get past this? This comes after following just about every "how to" guide on the net when it comes to upgrading your 360 drive. I even found a thread that suggested using a program called "HDA2". That failed miserably since you can't unlocked the HBA of the hard drive.

I also forgot to mention that I did try every version of hddhackr that I could get my hands on, which even include .91b.

You CAN unlock the the HDD and you can MOD the LBA size. Also, the program is called HDAT2 and not hda2. There's still a chance for us, we just need to keep looking/researching and have a little more patience.

Peace.

Ooops, my mistake. I meant "HDAT2". See what happens when you stay up too late trying to upgrade a hard drive? Freudian slips! Now I just have to figure out what "hda2" is... Anyways, I did use HDAT2 and found the section in which I could unlock the LBA. However, every time I did it, the process would abort itself.

As I wanted to order a HDD and a SH-D162D drive I did a search and found this topic, since the cheapest HDD was a WD 160GB I ordered it, as any other HDD could be as successful or as unsuccessful as this one.

Well I just wanted to let you know that I flashed my WD Scorpio Blue WD1600BEVT - 75ZCT successfully.

HDD info:
WD1600BEVT - 75ZCT2
Date: 24 May 2009
FW: T2

So it doesn't look like it has anything to do with newer drives.

System info:
DFI NF4 Ultra-D
3.5" Floppy Drive
The rest is most likely irrelevant (If not, just ask).

Software info:
Bootdisk: W98SE OEM Bootdisk (As described in this topic).
HDDH version: v0.91 nf4 (hddhackr091-nf4.rar).

At first I made a mistake...plugged the HDD onto my Elite dry.gif wrote down the SN and formatted the HDD, then I realized it had to go onto my other 20GB 360, hooked it up to my PC and undid the flash, re flashed it and plugged it onto the right 360, everything went smooth as can be.

However, I didn't copy any save games or whatsoever, I installed a game to HDD and played it, everything seems fine.

I'm only having problems upgrading to 1.6 with this system, but that's a different matter and I'll probably have it fixed tomorrow (or late this night....it's already 2:30AM), the reason why I decided to upgrade the HDD first, upgrading to 1.6 was getting boring.

Ok, I was able to resolve my issue with the LBA Size Error. Before I gave up completely, I decided to give it one more try, but instead of using the same PC, I would use my laptop instead (SATA HDD too). I connected it up, ran hddhackr .91 and it worked like a champ. I was able to format the drive with my 360 and I am currently restoring my files to my drive now.

So to sum it up, try another computer with a different chipset if you are getting this particular message.

Anyone know if a NForce chipset would work? The WD1600BEVT is the cheapest drive I can find (and its local) and I don't wanna go out and buy it if I can't get it to work...

I only started looking into non-M$ HDD stuff today... I bought an Arcade pack last week to mod but everyone tells me that I should buy a HDD. Little confused :S
