If someone could help me solve this, I'd be very grateful, as I'm not even sure where to begin.

I have several machines that connect through a hub and a soft-router to my cable modem. The soft-router is Internet Gateway by Vicomsoft. I love it since I get real 12. IPs for all of my connections (including my xbox on dhcp). The speed to the internet is fine and downloads/uploads are all what they should be.

The problem is with lan connections. I cannot get anything over cable modem speed when transferring to systems on my home lan. What it ammounts to (in my mind) is that file transfers are actually going out over the internet and back to the target machine! My question is, is this a setting in the soft router or on the client computers that needs to be configured?
