Hi guys,
I AM TRYING to get the RROD or E74 error message on my 360 elite,is this possible WITHOUT opening the console up please? uhh.gif
And if it is possible how do i go about it guys??
The reason i am trying is because i have audio but no video output, and its not the av leads cus i have tried others with the same result.
i have tried quick overheat by stopping fans to fix the video error etc but to no avail
Obvoiusly if i can get the rrod or e74 then MS can have it back and fix all my issues with the elite.lol. biggrin.gif
Thanx in advance ppl smile.gif

*towel trick* huh.gif

What I believe your saying is that you want to break it on purpose? I think thats considered fraud and is against forum rules. Probably should be closed.

thanx glitch will try it smile.gif ,with regard to the console bit, its already broken so i cant break it.lol tongue.gif

But i do take your point and accept how it may be interpreted biggrin.gif

nope its a no go with towel trick, the console seems to cut out n turn itself off before any red lights appear on front of it,some sort of safety precaution maybe to prevent internal damage???

dude your likley to break it for good with the towel trick! The console needs to be repaired, its actually an easy fix for this type of issue....reflow and xclamp replacement

LOL you don't have to get rrod to fix this!
neilw5112
thanx for replies guys, but your missing my point.lol
I dont see why i should have to "fix" it or get someone i know to fix it when its clearly not my fault its happened, its MS fault and as such they should fix it for me......FREE of charge laugh.gif
Its never been opened before and i would rather MS get to fix it hence my original question

I know the no video issue can be fixed with xclamps and reflow etc but ME opening her up voids the warrenty and warranties are always handy to have should the need arise

they can fix it for free...

Sorry wot i meant was its not presently in warranty and as such MS will NOT fix it free of charge(Will They)? uhh.gif ,
So if i do open it and **** it up then im left with a bust console worth next to nothing,on the other hand if i can get MS to fix under rrod or e74 extended warrenty then they will also give another 90 day warranty with it when it comes back plus a free month of live. laugh.gif

Correct me if im wrong but MS will only fix rrod and e74 errors on a extended 3 year warranty for free otherwise i have to pay for it to be done, all other errors are only covered within standard 12month warrenty? uhh.gif
RDC
Commit warranty fraud on yer own time, it doesn't fly around here no matter what your reasoning is behind it.
