ok i have a softmodded v1.0 xbox and i want to flash my tsop. i was wondering if
these are the correct soldering points. any other info would be nice.
lordvader129
Jul 25 2009, 04:34 AM
yep, those are correct
there isnt much more information you need, since your already softmodded just run evox (from a CD or as an app) and flash away, i recommend x2 5035 as the bios

ok thanks, will i need a slayers or AID disk?

You can use any flash method you want once the points are soldered. Both of those programs should work along with any others that are not modchip specific I know about. "raincoat, flash bios in evox, etc" Only when you have a sharp or windbond tsop do you have to be selective about what programs you use to flash the tsop, and neither tsop was available on the 1.0 xbox.
If you check Lord Vader's sig you will see a good diagram of how to split the tsop into multiple banks allowing you to run 2 to 4 different bios configurations by switch. The mod only works on version 1.0-1.1 xboxes which you happen to have. This makes it easy if you have to switch back and forth between a vga, linux, debug, or retail bios. It also gives you an escape from a bad flash if you flash all banks individually.

i know that i can use evox but will i need a rescue disk or slayers etc.. to rebuild the hard drive? because i read somewhere that you do.
run088
Jul 27 2009, 06:15 AM
Unlock the drive but that should not matter on most bios.
It will most likely be looking for the dash in the root of the c drive and most bios boot either default.xbe or evoxdash.xbe so just copy and rename your xbe to both and you should be ok. There are other xbe files in the directory just ignore them.
If you use a bios that has a config like ind or 5035 then you set up the dashboard placement manually on the "ini or config" to where ever you want to put it.

yes i hear the flubber noise but no video. i used x2 5035

Jul 27 2009, 06:33 AM
Your cool you just need a dashboard or the ini file placed in the root of E pointed at where your old dashboard was located.
KILLxQUICK
Jul 27 2009, 06:34 AM
ok, how can i go about fixing this? thnx for the help.
run088
Jul 27 2009, 06:37 AM
You can load anything from disk you just dont have a dashboard. Load up something that has ftp capability and transfer the 5035 ini file into the root of the E drive.
Make sure you edit it before hand with a text editor changing the dashboard placement option to where your working dashboard is installed. Which on Krazie's hack it is place e:Dashboard\default.xbe

ok ill give it a shot.
ok as of right now i have no disks that will work with my drive but i tried loading a game and still no video am i still ok.
run088
Jul 27 2009, 06:49 AM
If your not getting a 3 boot frag you did not have a bad flash.
If you can hear the flubber then your bios are loading.
You should see at the very least a banner across the screen that says XECUTER2 CONFIG LIVE LOADING....
Did you make sure to use the 5035 that is for 1.0-1.5 version xboxes because this bios has a version exclusively for a 1.6.
KILLxQUICK
Jul 27 2009, 06:52 AM
oops i guess i did use a 1.6 darn. can i still fix the problem?
run088
Jul 27 2009, 06:58 AM
I have never had that problem before so I really cant say but a cheap 13 dollar modchip will bypass the problem. The 3 wire trick wont work because you successfully flashed the whole tsop.
Will it load a disk? Can you hear it?
KILLxQUICK
Jul 27 2009, 07:03 AM
yes it loads i put a game in and can hear it loading and i can hear music through speakers.
ill have to find some disks that will work with my xbox and figure out a way to reflash.
run088
Jul 27 2009, 07:05 AM
Then if you get slayers I can walk you threw the menu and we can try to flash a different bios.
Or a linux disk might be able to work it might hijack the bios since it is based off pbl.
Might be able to get away with flash bios since it is based off cromwell.
I think it can be fixed without a modchip but it will be tricky.
You might also want to try to use a different av method and see if it produces a more usable signal it would not hurt to try.

Jul 27 2009, 07:10 AM

I know this thread is old but, could i possibly fix this problem by getting the xbox to boot into PBL?
steveo1978
Feb 18 2010, 06:00 AM
You can look into using the eurasia flash disk that may solve the problem. Do you have ftp access to the xbox?
KILLxQUICK
Feb 18 2010, 06:05 AM
yes i have ftp access.
steveo1978
Feb 18 2010, 06:14 AM
Since you do you might be able to edit the evox ini file so that once evox boots you just hit one of 2 buttons to flash the tsop
KILLxQUICK
Feb 18 2010, 06:17 AM
umm would you know how i would go about doing this? and i think i had unleash as my primary dash so i will need to change that to evox.
steveo1978
Feb 18 2010, 06:46 AM
Yeah I will install evox later and edited to what you would need then i will test it and post the ini here do you know what tsop you have
KILLxQUICK
Feb 18 2010, 06:48 AM

oops my bad i havent messed with this stuff in a while, its a Hyundai tsop
steveo1978
Feb 18 2010, 07:41 AM
ok I will have the edited evox.ini file post up tomorrow. You will have to go on xbins and get the bios and if you dont already have evox get that to. I would suggest getting Ind-Bios 5003 that way you know for sure you are not grabbing a bios for a 1.6 xbox
KILLxQUICK
Feb 18 2010, 07:44 AM
ok thanks dude.
murauder
Feb 18 2010, 07:51 AM
if you can ftp then just ftp in and point the x2 config to your evox dash edit the ini to add
THIS. delete everything in your menu and just have it set up to have this
Item "Flash BIOS",ID_Flash_Bios
if that doesnt work then change it to
Item "Flash BIOS",@1
put your bios in a bios folder where your dash is located
then you will have to click A 3 times i believe it is (its been a while since i used evox)
wait.....
and you should have successfully flashed your TSOP with the right (x2 5035 vOLD i assume) BIOS
edit: too late! damn me and my slow typing!
KILLxQUICK
Feb 18 2010, 04:00 PM

make sure the bios folder for evox has only the bios you want to use. When the xbox is booted hit the A button then A button again wait maybe 2 seconds and hit the Y button then wait and see if your xbox shuts down if it does when you restart the xbox should be flashed with the new bios. I tested this out and it worked. You should look in this file and edit the IP to what your current IP address for your xbox is so that you are not stuck after the bios is flashed.

ok another stupid question, where do i put the evox stuff cause there is a spot in C and E? (im assuming C)
what needs to be replaced because in ftp my C drive consists of: fonts, SID, Skins, Config.xml, evox.ini, evoxdash.xbe, items.xml, and xboxdash.xbe.
(knowing that evox.ini and evoxdash.xbe need to be replaced)
murauder
Feb 19 2010, 03:00 AM
if you have an x2config file on your E drive you can edit that to point to any location you want for your dash. but id recommend replacing evoxdash.xbe on the C drive. copy the contents of steveos post and edit the evox.ini to reflect that. also need to get your bios into a bios folder on the C drive as well

shoulda replaced the ip address with yours before moving the ini to the hard drive. your dvd drive works though doesnt it? you will have to make a bot disk such as slayers or aid (anything really as long as it has ftp and you change the ip settings before you burn it)
