How much does he do? I personally dont see anything wrong doing acid as long as it is not frequent and does not affect job/school/family

Wow, that is very serious. Any way that you can get him help, the sooner the better.

Wouldnt worry about someone doin acid, coke/smack/meth might be a problem, acid isnt actually going to cause any physical harm. 9 hits per week is quite alot though. (how did you get this figure?) Even if he is doing them all in one go, tripping once a week is too much for most people...
Try not to approach the problem as though you see it as 'drugs of friends' Acid gives people real insight and much more of a deep spiritual experience than just 'getting high', so dont expect him to see the choice as a simple 'friends or drugs' matter.
Acid is also not a habit forming drug, so judging his weekly usage now (assuming he has just started playing with the stuff) is akin to watching someone play a new game a shitload in the first week they have it. Doesnt mean there is any form of addiction forming, they are just having a good time!

Yeah, if it's an on going thing then you would need to try to approach him the best way you know how. Moving on to other drugs can have serious repercussions. Shit... I did it once, but never thought I'd try something else. The trip alone was a huge experience. Eight or Nine times a week is just insane, to me anyway.
