Your absolutely correct. I have it running off my hard drive as well. NO PROBLEMS. Like you said before, just because someone has a problem they jump to the conclusion that it must be protected.

okay, sorry guys. It seems that it actually does work if i play it at night time, but during the day it freezes. whatever that means!?

Well, I will let you in on a little secret.....when you installed your modchip you now have a little gnome who sleeps during the day and parties all night inside your Xbox!!!

I have confirmed that there is a protection of sorts on the Robotech game. I cannot open the Robotech box, and I think it has a modchip detection in it. It just knows...and won't open up at all.

I will have to get my buzzsaw to see if that will crack the protection.
I will keep you intouch.

Edit:Yes indeed it did have a protection on it, and also an anti-anti-crack protection on it. While using the buzzsaw on the case to open it, the disc initiated a self destruct protocol and nuked half my town. I was protected due to the amount of time I sit staring at a monitor getting radiated on a daily basis.

if you have an illegal copy of this game one one of the new xboxes, it will get your credit card numbers off the "magnetic" strip and forward that information to walmart who will charge you for the game.
