My local store's TDK +R DL discs are on sale, are those discs as good verbatim? Anyone used those before?

no, yes they suck.

ive used them once or twice. they arent terrible. i havent had any problems, however i still prefer verbatim.

not nearly as bad as memorex where 2/5 disks i burned failed while writing leadin

They give some of my consoles dirt disk error and work fine in others. So yeah they have pritty poor reliability.
So stick to verbatim because they are cheaper in the long run.
