Okay, I have all the info I need, now I just need to know how the heck do I paint the bottom of the xbox? Do I just turn it around, tape up the vents and spray away? Or do I have to remove ALL of the insides (son of a biatcH).
Thanks

Bootlegger
You're a tard. Why the fuck would you want to paint the bottom? And second, keep everything in your Xbox and spray away. I'm sure you'll be satisfied with the results.
TykSak
paint it all and try to get the paint into all the vents (for a better look)
blackmaj69
Is this the time of day when all the retards come out to play? I have really tried to be a good person, but please if you are a dumb fcuking idiot, please stay the fcuk away from my god damn posts. I need HELP, not sarcasm.

TykSak
ofcourse you have to take it apart first and thanks for the compliment and nice words :/
blackmaj69
Some of the ppl I talked to said cover up all the vents and spray away, and they were serious so I thought I would ask someone in here (experts). But then I get idiots like bootlegger. I didnt even read yours tysak... Still, sarcasm is not appreciated, I just wanted to know...

I use acrylic car paint but some people have also had luck with krylon fusion paint.

2 color paintjob is done by painting the whole case then masking of the nonX part and painting the X a second color
blackmaj69
If I use acrylic, will it peel off on the controller? What is the best brand that you use? Also, do you use primer and then top it off after painting with clear coat (and how manys coats). Thanks

-blackmaj69
TykSak
I dont use primer or clear coat but clearcoat might be a good idea when painting controllers

Cleaning the surface before painting will give a better result (no peeling)
blackmaj69
I see. What brand did you use for #8 xbox (green/graphite?)
Please tell, I want to make one very similar to yours except a different jewel and lighted jewel. It looks realy kick ass and I want to get one. Pleaz email me at blackmaj69@shaw.ca and tell me how you did it, I would really like to know. Do you mod xboxes, if so how much?

They would so catch it at customs rite?
I want the green/graphite xbox. What exact names of the colors did you use so I may run out and get them in a different brand. Thanks

-blackmaj69
TykSak
Xbox #8
Xbox Green # 44420
Dark silver # 51078
blackmaj69
And those numbers are universal color numbers or just for MOTIP? *im a n00b biggrin.gif*
TykSak
Ive given out my color # before and noone said anything so I guess they are universal, anyone?
blackmaj69
Well, I have decided to follow your green/dark silver, but instead of green, it will be a lighter shade of platinum. The LED's will all be blue biggrin.gif
Tell me what you think Tysak, if this will turn out well. My brother knows a profession auto body guy so he may be able to help me out a bit. Tell me what you think man, or if you gots any pointerz biggrin.gif

-blackmaj69
TykSak

Holy S%$@!!! I now have seen the most beautiful XBOX ever! EXCELLENT work Tyksak!! I thought mine was good, HELL, yours makes mine look like a piece of CRAP!! I want to go start all over now damn it!! smile.gif

If anyone would like to see more pics and see how much better Tyksaks is than mine, go for it right here.

Bootrix, why did you paint the inside of your controller. Just wondering
Bootrix
The only reason I painted the inside of the controller was because I was there. Meaning, I was painting the sides of the grooves (where the controller halves come together) and it made no sense to mask off the inside of the controller, so I just painted the whole inside as it had a bit of overspray there. It didn't take up that much paint, so it was no big deal.

It's kind of like when you go look at a used car and you are questioning whether it is the stock paint color, and you look under the hood to see if there is a different color on the firewall, well, now if someone ever takes my controller apart, they will think it is the stock color!! lol smile.gif My case is the same way! No one will ever know it was black originally! smile.gif

What kind of paint did you use? I like the silver. It already looks like the blue is starting to crack though

Believe it or not, it was! This is the first time I have been asked though! I haven't decided if I like it or not, but was kind of an experiment because that was the only part that had the super glossy finish making it easy for me to do it. All you have to do to do it (if anyone should want to that is!), is add the color you want, then only let it cure for about 3 mins or so (not quite cured), then add a clear coat. Instant crackle affect! Believe it or not, it is very hard, so it does not hav to be handled super easy!

Oh and thanks for the comments! I really tried to have attention for detail and such, but when I saw Tyksaks, my heart skipped a beat! That is simply amazing art there! That is what I will shoot for on my next one! smile.gif
