I only post this to bring some attention to it as early as possible, hopefully to save at least one person from upgrading to 120 when this is around the corner, as I'm sure HDDhackr will have a release for this eventually.

hddhacker should work fine with this new hdd. it uses the security sector and modifies the firmware of the new drive to look like the original. Cant wait.

Cant wait for this. Currently i'm using 320gb WD on my console, so i hope i can use it.... if not full, most of the space of it

Yeah, I still have my 20, and have been waiting around for something a bit bigger then 120. 250 sound great to me.

I wonder how long it'll take before the bin file is released so we can make our own 250Gb drive.

The Modern Warfare 2 bundle comes out on 11/10. I'd say that we'll have the bin file within 24 hours. (Can't find a date for the Forza 3 Bundle)

I bought a 250GB WD yesterday and installed it as a 120GB drive (working nicely). I specifically purchased the 250GB to hopefully unlock the extra space at some point in the future.

To those that might know - obviously the official 250GB drive hasn't been seen in the wild yet so conclusive answers are impossible, but is the general assumption that with the new BIN file from the 250GB I'd just need to HDDHACKR flash it onto my 250GB drive, and then place it directly back into the 360? And that would allow the Xbox to see and use all the new space?

Or is it going to require having to backup all my files again, flash the new BIN to my hard drive, formatting inside the 360 and then copying all the data back (which is what I suspect will be required).

you will need to backup your files then use the undo.bin from when you flashed originally and then redo the drive with the new 250gb hddss.bin. basically you have to start from scratch. the 360 may see the data you had on the drive previously but it will show the wrong space and be corrupted data.
