Hi all, have been doing a lot of reading to try and help me with my prob but cant seem to get a clear response so thought id ask in here.

I have a xenon v1 board which i got off ebay some time ago, the drive wasnt the original so i had no dvd key.

Obviously its now possible to get the key from the motherboard so have soldered in the wires as best I could, 3 x 330 ohm resistors, wires direct to mobo and no diode.

the nand dumped perfectly, took 3 copies, all are identical, all open in Flash tool but for some reason degraded 1.1 and 1.1b both crash when i attempt to open but i think this may be a vista/windows 7 compat problem??

Flashtool shows the CB as 1903.

Stupidly or I not i flashed the xell dhcp bin to the nand but got nothing, blank screen and 3 rrod within 20 seconds.

Decided to flash original nand.bin back, same thing, 3rrod and blank screen,

finally tried to flash the xell1921 and once again 3rrod.

Where am i going wrong? is it because im not using a switching diode? am i using the wrong image? does the fact i can open originals in degraded mean that my setup is flawed and somethings not working??

i really appreciate the help and apologise if im repeating old stuff but like i said i just cant seem to find a straight answer.

you could try with a diode i may help

if the xell isnt working are you using the right one

what it going through to the screen

resolder the jtag points the 3x330r resisters
its not advised but it seems some people have been having trouble with the 3x330r resisters try it with out

if that dosent work reattach the ltp cable and shorten it (dont think this is your problem

if u have resisters on the ltp leed them try removing them

My guess is that your 360 just decided to die, and it's coincidence that it happened right around the time you flashed it.

unless he messed up the wires, what error code is it?

I have the same problem, i have a falcon motherboard, I dumped nand from it. Then i wrote a falcon_hack.bin Then i turned on adnd got a 3 red lights. No signal at monitor. After that i fleshed back my dumped nand, box booted sucessfully.
Who can tell me what to do, i need to recover my lost dvd key

I have a xenon board also that seems to be doing this same thing. Dumped 3 copies of the original NAND successfully, then wrote the xenon_hack.bin to the drive. I hook it up (through component cables, I'm told that works also besides VGA) and turn the box on. It gets the green ring like it's booting up for probably 15-20 seconds, and then flashes 3 red rings (all but the upper right are red) and nothing ever displays on the screen. Any luck with this, or further ideas?

alright guys I think I might be able to help you out. I had the same problem when trying to flash xell to the box. so here is what I did I flashed the Xell_DHCP_RGB_1024x786 this one has a file called NewXell.bin inside it. that is the one that worked for me. I tried the rest, none of them worked they all went three red lights. also try to erase first "nandpro lpt: -e16 0x000000". also make sure your wiring is right because I had one of the wires going to the totally wrong hole and I didn't get any errors while reading or writing it just wouldn't work when i tried to turn it on. Degraded is always crashing when i go to build an image to

Thanks for the reply. I tried erasing the nand, then flashing the "NewXell.bin" file from the Xell_DHCP_RGB_1024x768 zip, and turned the box on to get the same result sad.gif The wiring should be good, because it gets the correct config "FlashConfig:01198010" from nandpro and i got 3 dumps to match from the original nand. It looks like it's booting something for probably 20 seconds, then the 3 red rings flash (upper right non-red) and no signal is ever given to my tv (through component hookup and the switch on the cable set to HDTV) Any other ideas? sad.gif

Yea mine was wired wrong and after about the 10th time of me checking it i found that one wire was in the wrong place by one hole. by the way my flash config was correct to. I dont know how but it was.

Just double checked again and they're definitely in the right slots for sure...ugh I was really hoping it was an idiot move on my part that was that simple, but still nothing sad.gif I'm reading more up on it, and it seems like this is the symptom of a newer dashboard being installed, since the new (August '09) dashboard release removed the booting from the primary sector of the nand (sorry for that not being grammatically correct, but it's getting late and i'm getting annoyed with my box tongue.gif) Any way to check for sure what dashboard it has? (I've got a good original nand i'll put back on)

I've been getting bad blocks on my 2 360s. So I did some googling and read
QUOTE
Bad blocks are completely normal.
After you have flashed the image, you MUST disconnect the power and the LPT cable. If you don't, the normal SMC code will be cached by the Xbox 360, and will use that one instead, resulting in corruption

I haven't tried flashing the 2 360s I have yet, but maybe you guys aren't doing this step? It's the first time I've read it anywhere. It's worth a shot in my opinion.

Yeah, I actually just read that last night too. I tried it, but no go for me. I reloaded the original dashboard, and it's version "D:2.0.8507.0" (the august 11th, 2009 update) So I think that's what's screwing me personally over. That dashboard and after apparently changed how the nand is read on bootup, and it skips where xell tries to boot in the sequence, so instead of booting xell, it simply boots nothing, then times out is why the 3 red rings come up.

...least that's what i've dug up through hours of research sad.gif I'd LOVE to be disproved though and have some insight as to either how to get the DVD key off the motherboard with that version of dashboard (or newer) or how to downgrade the version of the dashboard so i can get xell to run to get the DVD key ultimately. In short, I just want to get the DVD key somehow (not from the drive itself though)

yup that happened to me on the box i just did all i had to do was unplug it and plug it back in and it worked fine.
I have seen people talking about doing this through usb and I have around 35 boxes I have to do but that will take forever through lpt. can someone give me a link or tutorial to do this thru USB.
