Have audio but no Video, the day I finally got Dirt 2 it went out on my third race!! Did the X-clamp fix, booted it up and voila! had video. It overheated cause I hadn't put the vent in, unplugged it and turned it back on and now no video again. From what I have read I'm assuming I have to overheat the GPU to reflow it right?
I've seen a few different ways to do this, putting the DVD drive and vent in and placing fan on top of CPU and let it run for 20 minutes or leave them out with no fan until the 2 rl come on. Is either method preferred? or is there something else I should try also?
Thanks for any advice

Had the same issue. My box first went to very bad graphics back to good then to none at all so i went ahead and did the xclamp mod let the box overheat for 20 minutes and then I tried it it worked for about 1 round of street fighter 4 then just killed video. SOund conitnues but no video. I did the overheat for 20 min with fan on the cpu. I may just try again for longer time. I read in the llama guide that the heat shutoff controls lie in the cpu so if you overheat both you may not get hot enough to reflow. I dunno, I tried their way and I have no video. I just wanted to drop my experience to possibly help with your choice.

No, you don't want to overheat it. It'll hurt the xbox over time. You should try a hybrid x-clamp fix.

seems that this type of problem is frequent and that in order to fix it for good is to get the thing reballed. I cant think of any other way that this could be done. If the bad video or no video is being caused by solder joints that are not making good contact then they have to be redone. Temp fixes like the overheating method will surely cuase their damage over time. I thik I may try to get mine reballed either way. Just my 2 cents i guess.
