Looks like MJ Nelson is giving us a warning

http://majornelson.com/archive/2009/10/16/...ge-devices.aspx

says with the new update we need to switch to a real MS hard drive

Ya I know sorry about the miss spelling in the title. I don't know how to change it.

I was just about to buy a 120GB Bev.

Damn it!
johnnie360
haha I know! I just had my browser tabbed to an ordering page when I saw this!

Well, back to the 20GB drive for a while. hopefully this will be circumvented rapidly. wink.gif

grr.gif this is bullshit. micro$oft hard drives are freakin expensive. its the only reason we get our own hard drives .
i really am starting to hate micro$oft. grr.gif grr.gif grr.gif

honestly i dont think it is a problem still. Non official devices? The hack looks just like the original drive that is being clones. the 360 will see an official hard drive because that is what it is. there only shot would be to blacklist eash hard drive they see multiples and create a system update for each one adding it to a list on the nand. very risky if you ask me. we will see but I really dont think it is an issue.

After reading more I really dont think they will for modded drives.

I doubt this has anything to do with hard drives, it's only going to block Datel's Memory Unit adapter.

lol im sure MS can see everyone using the exact same hddss.bin file thats been floating on the internet for a while not to mention duplicates.
Antman1
point is, they will have several of the same Official MS Hard drives that people are cloning on there consoles as well.. I cant tell for sure but I wouldnt hold your breath on the scrambling data on hard drives and such

Remember they arent saying they are banning for it. they are saying they are not allowing them to work.

Damn! I just did my first HDD mod yesterday!

I hope this isn't so...

You sure, where did you find that info? I really hope I don't loss my 120 GB and go back to 20 GB until another hack comes out.

Just thought I'd update everyone.

I am part of the preview program. I have a modded hard drive. Everything is fine.

I don't remember if I used the common bin file or a unique one.

Cheers for posting but you didn't need to. The people with their heads screwed on knew they only meant memory cards and the rest didn't deserve to be put out of their uncertainty for being so retarded and creating needless scaremongering spam posts in the first place.
