I built my p4 pc about 1.5yrs ago and have an abit th7 raid mb that supports 423 pin p4 processors. The board says it supports up to 2ghz. I am wondering if that is only because it is the 423 pin layout and if i got an adaptor for 423 to 478 pin it might run larger newer p4's processors like a 2.4ghz. I am currently using a 1.4 so this would be a huge upgrade.

Just buy another motherboard.
Probably be alot less trouble.
