hope someone can help.. spent a whole day on this but cant figure it out...

Hey people.. i managed to do the JTAG hack and install xell... then i was booting into gentoo just fine... then after a restart i got 3rlod, after a couple of restarts the xbox booted back up.. then gentoo... then after login i got a screen with big black and white pixels (crashed).. then i restarted and it wont boot xell, just 3rlod after about 7 seconds and no error message on screen..

i opened up my 360 again and all connections were good, proceded to check flash which appeared to match first parts with hack and rest with original nand backup.. reflashed fine, but still getting same 3rlod after about 7 seconds... no e74 or anything...

since nand appears fine, no error msgs, and since i got the crash with black and white pixels... im kind of assuming this has to do with the gpu... i dont think its fried or anything, im thinking there might be some small solder piece that might have fallen on the wrong place, i read on another post that someone had a similar problem and then they found a small piece of solder on GPU jtag area, after they flicked it off everything was fine (im hoping something like this is the issue)...

anybody have anything similar happen? can anyone diagnose... help is greatly appreciated.. thanks

check the jtags and use a fan on the board.
whats the error code?

i dont get an image on my monitor, just rrod after 7 seconds... i will try using component cables today and see if i get an image...

by check the jtag you mean check the resistors and connections to see if theyre good right?

by error code you mean something like e79 etc? i cant see an error code cuz there is no image... will check and post back

solved...

aparrently i got a RROD due to gpu/cpu flux/solder problem... first RROD ever on my 3 yo 360... this is impressive given that i have played gears and such for hours and never had a problem... now i booted xell/gentoo for a few minutes and BAM!

binary on xboxhacker said he had a similar problem on a launch 360 and after reflux never had the problem again... hopefully this will be true of my 360 as well. Thanks for all the replys!
