Hey Guys,

My new SH-S222a is burning disks at 4.1x, but the rear of the disks contain swirl like patterns on the back of the disk.. seems to go around a in a full circle.

I'm not able to burn at 2.1x with the new drive, but doing so with my laptop on the same disks does not produce this effect.

Can anyone help me out?

Do you have the latest driver update for your dvd burner? That's usually the first thing to check. I've had one disc do that, but I was running too many programs while burning the disc and made ImgBurn freeze up.

yeah, i've got the latest firmware.. and i think that may infact be the problem. The computer i'm using grinds to a halt when burning disks, so i've bought myself a usb to ide adapter and i'll see how i get on with that!
