i have a lite-on with 1.6 fw. The activate.iso method is not working for me. I have burnt the activate.iso onto a verbatim dl. I used zarths tutorial and burnt it exactly as it should be burnt.

1. I put the activate.iso disk into my 360 and i get the play dvd message. (this happedns in 2-3 seconds, some tutorials say the disk will read for longer than normal)

2. I eject the disk and insert my wave-4 game. the game does not load, it just says play dvd and if I press A the xbox logo comes up.

could somebody tell me what the problem is plz

I have the same problem exactly. Tried d/l multiple versions of the activate iso.
Used Nero, Imgburn (without layerbreak set to optimal) and no luck? When I put in the backup game after activate it just says play DVD? Any ideas?

Burn the activate.iso with imgburn and answer yes to the 2 questions about this will fit on single layer disk and do you want to write in on 1 layer only (has to be written on 1 layer of the DL disk) once done insert the disk in your 360 when it say dvd hit A button it will goto insert this disk in 360 white screen hit eject then put in your wave 4 game it should then tell you play game instead of dvd hope this helps

Couldn’t find any real info on this but through trial and error I’ve finally figured it out!!!

These instructions were made using Imgburn!!!

Activate.iso is designed to enable One-shot boot mode for the iXtreme 1.6 firmware. One-shot boot mode allows you to boot your unstealthed, modified or “Hybrid” backups without any strict stealth checks!!!!

PLEASE NOTE!!! DOES NOT BOOT UNSTEALTHED XBOX 1 BACKUPS!!!! I was really hoping it would….

1: You need your Activate.iso file! should have come with any version of iXtreme 1.6. download one of those to get Activate.iso.

2: Once you have the activate.iso file, you wanna drag and drop or save it to your desktop.

3: Insert a DVD+R DL into your dvd burner.

4: Now open up Activate.iso with any burning software you use. (I.E. Imgburn, Clonecd, etc… I personally use Imgburn… )

5: Now in your burning program go into your write setting tab and make sure your layerbreak is set to the Calculate Optimal setting. Also check your booktype for DVD+R DL and make sure its on the DVD-ROM setting and that your write speed is at 2.4x.

* In Tools>>Settings>>Write>>Options >>Layerbreak should be “Calculate Optimal”.

* With the latest x360 firmware the booktype setting at DVD-ROM is not required, but it does not hurt. You can set it in Tools>>Drive>>Change Book Type/'Your burner Brand' select 'Change For:' to a 'DVD +R DL MEDIA' and in 'New Setting' choose DVD-ROM then click hit Change. Note There must be a DVD+R DL in your drive to "Change Book Type," when there in Write Tab in image burn look for Auto "Change Book Type and make sure there's a check mark in the Box this way the "Book Type" is select for you Auto but it does not hurt to select it again even if it's Auto.

* If the Drive in Tools are grey Press Ctrl+Alt+W Hover over the Icon's Under "Setting" Change Book Type then repeat the first step above. Note There must be a DVD+R DL in your drive to "Change Book Type."

6: Start Burn!

7: As soon as the burn starts a message will pop saying, “that the image is small enough for a regular DVD R, do you want to continue anyway?”
(You wanna choose yes because burned to a regular DVDR the Activate.iso wont work!!!)

8: Next another message will pop saying, “even though the image is small enough to fit into one layer its best to write in both layers, do wou wanna go away from the norm and write in only one layer?” (Now I wanna stress…READ THIS MESSAGE CAREFULLY!!!!)

Choosing “Yes” will cause all data to be written into the first layer.

Choosing “No” will cause data to be writing into both layers.

CHOOSE YES!!

9: It will burn then finish…

10: Insert the Activate.iso disk into your xbox 360. It will read for a little longer than usual then finally it will say “Play DVD”. Press “A” on your controller and a video should pop saying, “Play this disk in an xbox 360 console“.

This is how you know you’ve burned the iso sucessfully!!

11: Now just eject the Activate.iso disk and insert your unstealthed, modified or Hybrid disk and it will load!!!
