So my friend bought this burner to back up our 360 games, LG GE20, and we verified the disc image with abgx360 and then burned it at 2.4x max with the layer breaker set to 1913760 on IMGBURN. The disc was a Memorex DVD+Rdl 8x 8.5 GB. This is on a laptop that is a couple years old. We got the message before it started burning that
L0 Data Zone Capacity Miscompare!
Wanted : 1913760 Got : 2086912
but then the disc went on to burn and complete after two burning phases. I saw a couple other places there that sometimes the LG drives just do this and it should still work. However, I made two separate copies and neither of them worked on my modded xbox.
Can anyone please help me with this specific problem, I have been trying to figure out if we need to return this drive or just get better discs, or if I am missing something entirely like maybe I just need to burn it on my more powerful Desktop. Thanks for your assistance!

General Ideas: -
- Update burner firmware
- Open .dvd file to make absolutely sure it's setting the layer break
- Try using clonecd instead
Looking back on what you said, it doesn't appear to be setting the correct layer break. "Wanted : 1913760 Got : 2086912" so even if the burn process did go through to finish, it wouldn't have worked in your xbox. I'd say the firmware & alternative software would be your next step.
Media should be fine, i use aones and they are the cheapest, skankiest around!
EDIT: also, try new media.. just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the reply! I will try clone cd, as I just tried the better media, Verbatim made in Singapore, and I am manually adding in the layer break, and it is also in the DVD file, but it still is giving me that error message. I will try one more disc with clone cd and if that doesn't work I have heard some LG drives have this problem and will look at returning it for another. Thank again and if anyone else has advice please do share I am a new at all of this.

I forgot to mention that I did update the firmware.
And my friend got some verbatim, but to no avail it didn't work. I downloaded and installed CloneCD and I even tried a memorex and then a verbatim with CloneCD but the xbox 360 was still not reading my back-ups, only as dvds that wouldn't play. CloneCD didn't give me the error message about the layer break but the results were the same.
As a side note I uninstalled Daemon tools lite software before my last two test burns, and the driver manually as I read this can cause conflict.

1- what firmware do you have on modded drive?
2- what games specifically are they?

the flash mod is lxemte 1.6 on my 360, just the up to date manufacturer firmware for LG GE 20.
The game is Borderlands.

So we couldn't get that to work no matter what we tried so he is going to return it to best buy and I have bought this Dvd DL burner, tell me your thoughts I couldn't find anything on this one related to xbox 360 back ups but it sounds like it should work.

AS a note we tried the back up copy of border lands on our friends more updated box, and it worked so maybe our flash is out of date, I ordered a kit to update the flash and will let you know the results. Either way we found a much cheaper dl burner.
