QUOTE(upinsmoke @ Oct 30 2009, 12:44 AM)

so I go to flash to ixtreme 1.6 and when I use iprep 10.1 everything seems to go well. I do get that notorious error message while it is prepping the drive to be bootable but it should still work. When I change the bios setting to boot from usb when I startup i get a boot disk failure. I have tried thee different usb flash drives i get the same error I have tried different versions of iprep still same error different usb ports same error, been at this shit for about 4 hours now and get no progress anyone have any ideas??
I desperately wanted play the new COD MW2. I have iXtreme 1.51 firmware now, wanted to try 1.6, or 1.61, since its mandated for this game.
Last night the same thing happened to me as well,4+hrs ( drove me insane) This isn't the first itme i have flashed using the iprep method for benq, and samsung drives.
It is the first time i have used iprep 10.1, thats when all the problems started, apparently "flashing cursor wont boot" disc error, is a BUG of iprep 10.1
List of Culprits.
-the usb verbatim stick, 512 MB, used in many flashes. (Highly Doubt)
-Someone mention to use partition magic 6+ and up to create a partition and format the disk to fat32( still wouldnt boot disc error)
-Framework 3.5 install( uninstalled this still wouldnt boot)
Ugh, im stuck you cant easily remove frameworks, i had 1,2, 3.5 installed.
-tried to update definitions of iprep 10.1 with ixDef1.5, 1.51 ( NEVER DO THIS, it caused an Exception error for all iprep versions except 10, and 10.1)
-so now every version of iprep crashes, except 10.1, and this verison wont boot the usb stick
Looked at jungle flasher, and read the tutorials , eff them, i aint putting my drive in vendor mode, by pushing the drive in half way and unplugging the dvd power lead. So many steps for a read, write and flash, which exactly what iprep does so well.
I fired up xbins.exe looked for the latest iprep besides 10.1, found a newer iprep but it was labeled oddly iprep 8.8...I was like WTf, why was this so new?
downloaded installed it, checked to see if it would crash and the funny thing is that it didnt. ok , would this load 1.6 or 1.61 firmware? Ok, one down one to go.
1.61 definitions to updated iprep, was hard to find for me. i found it oddly enough here .

ok, iprep seems to work, definitions updated, and bang 1.61 benq firmware is able to load without any error.
Now for the final test , will this POS boot up?
Set the bios on my dell dimension 3000 to boot usb first, and let it ripped first try, it boots the usb stick , and now im finally on my way.
Almost gave up , took two days and a nights rest to find out a solution.
Sorry this is so long. I could have said download this, this and this, but i felt the need to vent my pain.
To Recap.
Download iprep 8.8
Download ixdef 1.61 (robinhood playground site link above)
YMMV( your miliage may vary)
