So basically I wanna know, how I tell what CPU my Xbox 360 is, and what that means when it comes to cooling and modding my 360 in general.

And also, is there different types of GPU's as well ?

Sorry for the newb question, i've been a building and modding custom PC's as well as Games themselves for 6+ years, but I'm new to the whole modding Consoles thing, and i'm really gettin into, so I'm trying to asorb all the info i can, and all you guys seem well versed in all this, and really helpful. SO thanks for any helpful replies, its much appreciated cool.gif

easy, smaller CPU/GPU die size means less power consumption thus leads to less heat produced.

for more info... here you go...

I knew that, I build PC's, but I was just wondering if there were any other differences with console CPU/GPUs. Thanks for that link !

so I bought my xbox back in 2006, so I think I have the xenon ? maybe ? but it also says this :

"Opus - Only as replacement for Xenon motherboards which have been sent-in to repair centers. Only avaliable through replacements at Microsoft Repair Centers. "

so I had RROD at the beginning of the summer 2009, so I dont know if that means that they switched it with the OPUS or not. I'm kinda confused lol

Basically, how can i find out what mine is running. I'm waiting for my Case Opening tool and Talismoon Fan to come in the mail, so i can open my case, so is there a way I can tell without opening it or do i just have to wait ?

I think there was some possible way to half-ass determine the board by looking at the manufacturing info on the back.
