After having some horrible experiences with Made in India Verbs, I did some extensive research to find something more reliable that I wouldn't have to ship back if it was made in the wrong country.

FTI Falcons are a *relatively* new professional-premium grade DVD+R DL. They are printable DVD+R DLs made mainly for businesses and places interested in small scale or mass distribution. The quality of them compared to the MCC Verbatims are nearly equal. However, their price is MUCH lower than Verbatim.

Pricing:
20-pack for $16.99 ($0.85 per disc): SuperMediaStore or CD Dimensions
120-pack for $79.00 ($0.66 per disc): SuperMediaStore

The 120-pack is the real deal. Compared to the best Verbatim price ($1.20 per disc), $0.66 per disc is rediculously cheap. Even if 40% of them coast (which NOBODY on CDFreaks had any experience with more than 1-2 coasts in 40 burns and it was nearly always chalked up to user error).

As for my personal experiences with them - so far 5 successful burns, all verified post-burn in ABGX and run perfectly on my BenQ 1.6.

An amazing 13-page discussion on them with lots of quality scans of the media: http://club.myce.com/f33/how-good-fti-falcon-271517/

I Payed $60 for my Verbatim DVD+R DL disc $3 a disc but never used them yet because I'm waiting on my other drive, what I read from here and the guide I'm putting together every one is saying Verbatim DVD+R DL disc are the best (slower is not better, typically burn verbatim 2.4x at rated speed and verbatim 8x at rated or 4x) if I can pay ($0.85 per disc) would be really nice cool.gif

Yeah, they're a relatively unknown media because they aren't sold in stores at all. Verbatim DVD+R DLs have the highest quality (even FTI has admitted that) because they use a more involved and more expensive burning process (known as 2P). However, FTI FalconMedia Pros (FTI's DVD+R DL) are also extremely good. It says something if CD Dimensions only offers two types of DVD+R DL disc: Verbatims and Falcons.

Honestly, the small drop in quality is worth it for the huge drop in price for me. It could very well be for a lot of others on the forum too, which is why I posted it here since it has only been barely mentioned on these forums but discussed in great detail on CDFreaks.

EDIT:
Also if you get a box of Verbatims that says Made in UAE or Made in United Arab Emirates - they are actually FTI Falcons. It is rumored that Verbatim has taken them up as another production site.
