I just purchased the ps3 a few days ago, havn't done much with it. I was wondering does it have a option like the xbox to install games on the hdd and play them from there as long as you have the original in the drive?? make loading times so much better, and allow the system to even run cooler, i was pretty impressed when i foundout the slim units have the cell on a 45nm design. Anyhow if anyone has any idea that would be great, thanks.

Hi! No, you don't have such an option right now, mostly because some of the games are too large. You would fill your HDD very fast with 25-50GB games smile.gif

Most games install parts to the HDD anyway....but not the whole game. In fact I remember all the complaints about how 360 owners would not want a PS3 and have to wait for the large HDD installs that many games have.
Now the 360 has the feature though , it is all ok.

Hate to defend fanboys, but at least its not mandatory.

Correct but look at the uproar now some of the banned users don't have that feature.
I don't see mandatory installs as a problem it's not like forcing spam on to your machine.
