my xbox 360

Very cool. I wouldn't really call it portable though. I mean I guess it is but its huge. Sweet either way.
rascalcat
Yea, but that 19" widescreen makes worth playing and watching movies on
it's a first attempt I can get it smaller.
lx InSaNe xI
Yeah its very very cool. Just I wouldn't wanna lug that thing around. Id like it in my room though. Itd be sweet. I wouldn't go smaller. The 19" looks awesome.

with all that space that you have you only put the stock fans. blink.gif
rascalcat
It has stock fan in case but it also has a modified CPU heatsink
with a fan on top of each heatsink it runs surprisingly
cool

Looks awesome! I really like the idea of an all in one unit. To everyone who says it's not portable, why not just throw that beast in the backseat of your car with a power inverter? Hell of a lot more portable than a separate TV and 360 in the back!
rascalcat
That's what I thought also perfect for tailgate partys

Sweet. Killer job. How ling did the whole process take? Plus, how much does it weigh?
NineLime
Id like to increase the 360's height by 1 or 2 inches to accommodate 120mm fans, would it be easy to make a plexi case? Did you just cut and epoxy it?
rascalcat
The weight of it is not bad but I have never weighed it
I worked on it awhile but it was only an hour here and an hour
there.
Looking back now I could take 1 1/2" out of the depth
and a couple of inches out of the height which I plan on
doing the case is drilled with countersunk screws.
An idea I'm kicking around is to put a Wii inside also
I have room in the bottom left corner to have a multi-system.

Can you share how you modified the heat sinks to add a fan?

Could you maybe post a picture of it also?

Thanks

BTW, looks really nice.
rascalcat
I will try to post pic of heatsinks and
fan tonight

heatsink and fans
here's pics of heatsink and fans the heatsink is just like the gpu heatsink it has been trimmed and rotated. the fan is an old xbox fan i used temporarily just to test drive the thing. i will be changing it out for something nicer. it runs really cool with this setup.

Mine is an old Dell 17" LCD laying around the house.
rascalcat
17" inch screen is pretty nice to. The mods with the small
5 and 7" screens just don't look like to much fun to play
on to me.

how do you power the screen? does it run off of the 360's power or does it run separately through another outlet?
rascalcat
It only has one power cord the screen
is powered from inside the unit. I split
the power before it goes into the xbox
power brick.

What do you really have left to do to this? You said it is a WIP but looks like a done deal to me. Just curious
DemisesAngel
Nice job, are you planning on leaving it see-through or do you plan to do any artwork to the case?

IMO, I always like the XBox 360 Laptop. That one had some serious work to it and it looks cool. If only the XBox 360 had browser capability like the other console, then it could be a laptop. Either way, nice job still.
rascalcat
Now that I know it works with no problems I see where I
can shave inches off the height and depth. I like it clear
but I would like to pimp it out with some green led's.

It uses 12v from the MB.
rascalcat
If you are reffering to the LCD it uses 110v.
