i recently got an xbox and i wish to mod it. i would like to put an 80 gig HD in it, and i would like to run evox dashboard. does ne one have a suggestion on what modchip to buy for the cheapest mod, and what is a good harddrive to buy. pleez reply asap

My advice would just go with the most popular chip, the x2lite or x2lite+, right now. Expect to pay somewhere around $40-60 USD for those. Lots of folks have them, so if you have any troubles, there should be plenty of tutorials to help. And for the weird stuff you can ask on the forums.

I would flash the tsop assuming its a v1 or v1.1.. if 1.2 search for different jumpers etc.
if its a v1.3 gotta wait on the new chip.

I wasnt trying to be an ass with my "Read the tut's" reply, It's just impossible to tell you what you want or what you should use, every single person here probably has a different setup somehow, it's just a matter on educating yourself on it and make a decision based on options wanted/needed, price and availability....
