Full Version: Writing Last Sectors Of Layer 0 Always Fail

Hello,

I am trying to burn a backup image of "Halo 3". Unfortunately it keeps hitting a write error when writing the last few sectors of L0, I guess just before the layer break:
Failed to Write Sectors 1913728 - 1913759 - Reason: Unknown (Write Error) (ASC: 0x0C, ASCQ: 0x80)

Burner is an LG GSA-4166B. I tried Memorex and Sony DVD+R DL discs, both fail with the same error. I use ImgBurn 2.5.0.0, and followed the usual instructions: set layer break 1913760, book type as DVD-ROM. I could not use 2.4x speed with these discs, burner kept upping it to 4x.

And yes, I heard the mantra about buying Verbatim. I figure that, if I'm having this problem so consistently, maybe it's something wrong with my setup, rather than with the discs. Advice requested!

that sounds like the burner or the image rather than the disks.
have you checked that image in abgx?
check it and see if anything is corrected. If not try another burner.
