I bought this from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-50-Pack...3481&sr=8-2

It is a 50-pack DVD+R DL for $33
I figured I would lay off the expensive verbatim and get more
It was rated 3.5/5.0 starts in Amazon so I figured I can't go wrong

I was totally wrong
I have backed up about 5 successful games
A total of 15 discs have failed and been thrown away
So far 25% success burning rate

The problem with these 5 successful games is that the framerate on my Xbox 360 slows down
Every few seconds the framerate would drop
By framerate drop, I mean that the picture slows down like a slideshow instead of a fluid motion
I tried putting in other Xbox 360 burned games from Verbatim
The Verbatims have no problem

I have been burning at "AUTO" mode using IMGBurn
The maximum burn speed of these discs are 8x
The maximum burn speed for my DVD Optical RW drive is only 2.4

Should I burn at a slower speed than 2.4?
All of the 5 successful discs I made were at 2.4x (set as auto in IMGBURn defaults to this)

All of those discs can't all be wrong
Does frame rate stuttering usually a cause of burn speed?
Or is it purely the discs?
The discs have no scratch whatsoever

Thanks!

I have gotten 5 more discs to work
A total of 25 discs failed

Basically I'm paying $33 for 25-disc spindle (since half of them already failed), which is a ripoff compared to the Verbatim's $25 for 20-disc spindle. The other half that aren't failing are stuttering and even got me banned from Live.

Don't buy these discs.

My Samsung DVD + DL burner can burn Verbatim 95310 8.5 GB 2.4X @ 4x same thing when burning a movie, my Sony DVD-R 16x but yet when burning it say it can burn @ 18x DON'T DO THIS. After playing it the drive it sounds louder then the Original, all the backups are louder then the Originals when playing it from the drive, so I high Recommend installing it to your HDD so that way you preserve the life of the drive and your Backups.

I don't play online so For anyone with a Live account don't install it on HDD drive.

Tip keep all your backups on a HDD in your PC. That way you'll never have to rip it again just burn and wait 40mins to finish smile.gif
