MCV can this week reveal first details regarding the launch of Microsoft's Project Natal.

Our sources say the innovative controller-free 360 camera will be released worldwide in November 2010.

This and other details have emerged following a behind-closed-doors Microsoft tour of UK publishers and studios - the format-holder has been demoing the tech and detailing its 2010 plans in order to spur more development support.

Microsoft is planning to manufacture 5m units for day one release, with a mix of console and camera plus solus SKUs expected.

The device should cost under £50 when sold solo. One publishing source says Microsoft is "trying to get as close as possible to 'impulse buy'". Another even says the camera could even retail for just £30.

14 games are being readied for launch.

Great news!

Can't wait for the release of Natal.

Thanks for the info.

50£-30£ sounds a great retail price, here's hoping amazon.com/amazon.co.uk will do a great pre-order deal.

it sounds like it is gonna be just another power glove, too much advertisement for something that turns out to be useless

Pricing sounds decent but a year away from launch? No offense but that's hardly a scoop lol I mean Michael Jackson could probably predict that even tongue.gif

£30-£50...

I'll believe it when i see it.

WiFi adapter anyone? tongue.gif

There is no way Microsoft is going to sell it from $50-$80. There is way too much technology packed inside for their pricing to be reasonable. That's two cameras with a microphone and its own on-board processor.

this is definitely going to be more than $100/£60

Too gimmicky for me, plus, i won't be considering microsoft for future console purchases, for many various reasons, and i also won't be purchasing any more of their hardware for the 360, don't like the way they go about business, their attitude is all too serious for a gaming machine, and all they do is overprice things, generally annoy most of their customers and release poor quality hardware, and major nelson gets on my tits.

Maybe another company will have a go at making a console, otherwise, it's sony for me.

Camera plus solus? What's a solus?

He is assuming your previous comment was referring to being banned from XBOX Live for playing pirate copies of games.

You stole his Esquire magazine. He wants to use it with Natal.

So it's too gimmicky for you, plus you won't purchase any future MS products. Why exactly did you post in this thread then?

Because it was on the xbox scene news, why did you post here about me posting here?

These are forums.. believe it or not they are designed for discussion and personal opinions, why are your questioning it? have i upset a fanboy or something?

I made a post, it is my opinion, why do you question my opinion? do you even have your own opinion? even more to the point, why do you care what i think?

Besides, its not about piracy, i am admin over at 360gamesaves.com, which are hosted by the same place as xbox scene, my beef is mainly with the intolerance of gamesaving and the pointless pursuit of banning people who inflate a meaningless score for some fun..

Some of you guys jump to conclusions far too easily..

I never said anything about piracy.

And I do have my own opinion. I'm a bit excited about Natal. Perhaps I will get it when it comes out. Looks interesting enough.

I question your opinion because the thread is clearly about launch details being leaked regarding Natal. You respond with the fact that you won't buy it or any other MS gaming product again. Would you go onto a board with a leak about the movie "New Moon" and comment about how you hate the writing and don't plan on seeing the movie? Your comment isn't really productive to the topic. Perhaps mine wasn't either, but my point remains valid nonetheless.

So this is a discussion about the detalis being leaked? or about Natal itself? one of us is clearly confused.

If its just about the leak, then this thread doesnt have much of a chance anyway... as for being productive, why does this thread have only contain productive comments about natal? A forum isn't for one sided debate or ass kissing, otherwise it would be pretty boring here.

As far as i recall Natal requires some new hardware, my comment was totally on topic, whearas you are simply just trolling, whether this thread is about the leak or natal itself
you have not commented on anything relevant to either, You only seem interested in questioning my opinions.

So please, with respect, go haunt someone else for a change, preferably on another forum.

Now i remember why i don't post here that often, too many kids with zero knowledge, but plenty to say rolleyes.gif

Well then continue not posting here.

I'm posting this again (I always do when new Natal details pop up). Just imagine this feature in a game like Modern Warfare. You wouldn't need to alter the controller layout much, which should mean something to all the doubters who say Natal won't bring anything positive to "hardcore" games.

Johnny Lee is a freakin' genius in my book. I'm so pleased Microsoft snapped him up to work on Natal. It really changed my stance with regard to Natal reaching it's potential (can't believe Nintendo let him slip through their fingers like that!)

I actually think they would. Ask yourself, what is Microsoft's long-term goal? They want to be the #1 box under everyone's TV, right? I think they would gladly sell Natal at a loss if it meant substantial market penetration.

To make sh**loads of money, of course

That's actually a short term goal
