XVal 2.0 and Xbox Image Browser v1.0
Posted by XanTium | November 19 19:19 EST | News Category: Xbox360

Redline99 released 2 new tools:

* XVal 2.0
[QUOTE]
The X value is used as a visual indication of security "events". This value is from a field stored in secdata.bin, offset 0x28 for a length of 8 bytes. It is visually displayed from dashboard in one of the system info screens. The X value is encrypted though and this tool will decrypt and display known recorded security events.

The console does not need to be connected to Live to do this procedure. At the same time this does not guarantee that the console with a "clean" X value has not been flagged on the server side.

This can be used as a tool to check the status of a second-hand console and be valuable information in considerations before purchasing.
[/QUOTE]

* Xbox Image Browser v1.0
[QUOTE]
This application allows file extraction from xbox xdvdfs iso's.

It should have the same capabilities as Xbox Backup Creator(info). I made this a long time ago for a friend and never got around to releasing it for others.

Sorry to Vista and Windows 7 people, the app will run but you will probably need to install additional components.

Lush
works great... thank you

Secdata is Clean
kohr
Can someone explain what this is/what it does, better? Thank you.
rgraham
looks good to me, says im still clean, and ive disconnected since the wave hit

RedLine99: Thanks for the tool, it does show my box as being banned so yes, it worked for me.

Others who need more info:
From the Xbox 360 dashboard:
My Xbox, System Settings, Console Settings, System Info.

The Console Serial Number is at the top and the X value is the 16 digit code at the bottom right.
DemisesAngel
Worked just as described. Unmodded, not banned. Modded was banned. Good job sir!
bedojunkmail
It would be interesting to find out what someone who hasn't been banned yet, but gets the repair request page error, sees with xval.
canadacanada
I get the Error This service is temporarily unavailable. Please try back again later. When requesting a repair. Unmoded works fine. And XVal v2.0 says my data is clean on both. Also not banned yet but I have been offline since the last banwave started.
noobs4us
Thanks,
Clean SECdata here, I tried testing this tool by putting in false data and it returned in error, even when change a letter or number in the 16 digit encrypted code, so it looks like the algorithm is the real deal. I am not banned (yet who knows if server side is flagged untill i try xbox live)

Now i have NOT been on xbox live since a week before Halloween.
below is my sytem info

D:2.0.8507.0 - K:2.0.8507.0 (BK:20.18888.0) (E:1) X:AF1A-63AF-70E2-E1F6 <------------"x value"
sofa king dumb
mines clean love.gif and ive been playing that modern warfare 2 smile.gif

EDIT: but when i turned my box after after checking. it turned off them the center of the ring of light started to glow and the disc started to spin, so i unplugged it before it could read anything. wtf?

EDIT: i dunno about yall but i always keep my 360 unplugged when its not on to save on the electric bill, but this time it took me a few seconds before i could unplug after shutdown...
Zack_sparrow
interesting
but i saw sth like it before in china
xxpittbullxx

2 here that get the 54420 error in the repair request both report clean on the xval.
I haven't booted either online cause I don't want them to cripple the hdd etc.

So is there any hope in un-crippling a banned system with this?

No if it's crippled. then it's crippled. You need to previously have a backup of the nand before ban.

now what this program does is detect if youre console id has been blacklisted by the server.

Nice job.

No .
At this point the only way to do that would be by flashing the nand which is not an option for 99% of the people out there.
Look back at the Unbaning xbox 360 (The Facts) article to find out that.
Link Below.
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=696317

This is simply to see if a console is banned or internally flagged to be banned so people can know before they buy a 2nd hand console etc.
hawkeye06
it says its clean but i get the 54420 error on xbox support? should i try connecting to live?
kainy
I'm clear too, but on the American Xbox.com, it shows me the bann error, so... smile.gif
Surazal
The console that I used for restore testing currently reports as clean. This console is currenlty running a NAND image that was taken 3 days prior to it being banned from Xbox Live as per this post: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?sho...p;#entry4567518

So 3 days prior to that system being banned its secdata was clean.

A definitive NO....
That error means your console is flagged and a Ban is inevitable.Took mine 6 days after getting the 54420 code before being banned.
ccfman2004
I get the "secdata is clean" but I have been banned.
brandogg
Sorry I didn't read thoroughly before asking that.
ka-b00m
Clean here too!!! But i updated offline!!! Great tool, thankx
Surazal
Someone on IRC asked what outputs there were besides "Secdata is Clean" and "Console Banned"

I took a look and here is the list I saw as potential outputs from Xval_v2.0:
CODE
Console Serial length incorrect!
Console Serial is wrong!
Encrypted X Value length incorrect!
Encrypted X Value is wrong!
Secdata is Clean
Secdata is invalid
Secdata decryption error
Failed AP25 Challenge
Tampered AP25 Table
Reverted AP25 Table
Invalid DVD Geometry
Invalid DVD DMI
DVD Keyvault Pair Mismatch
Invalid CRL Data
CRL Certificate Revoked
Unauthorized Install
Keyvault Policy Violation
Console Banned
ODD Violation
Unknown Violation(s)

Some of those are obviously user errors, but some are kind of interesting to see.
the_skdster
So if I get:

Decrypted Value: 0000000000000000
Result: Secdata is clean

Then I'm in the clear? Or is the Decrypted Value supposed to be something other than all zeros?
pu1se
So I might just be on the short bus here but how is this any different than just checking if you are able to rip games to the hard drive or not? My 360 is not "banned" but I still get the repair service error codes so it never goes online anymore. Not sure this will be any use to me. What am I missing? Who does this help? Not trying to disrespectful, I appreciate all the hard work of those in the scene.

Well, it would help anyone who has one of the error codes to know they probably shouldn't take the box online.

Clean value.
But error: 1052 on the Xboxrepair page.

But error: 1052 on the Xboxrepair page.

The suspected ban error is 54420.

I had xbox.com repair error, tried the GND WP method for WP nand, xbox live connection test shows banned. Xval 2.0 shows secdata is clean which makes me wonder if im banned for the WP 'mod'.......
barzi
How can you see on xbox.com if your console is banned?

No, that means the ban was not able to write to your NAND and change any data in secdata. If secdata had showed up as banned, then that means you had done the WP mod incorrectly, and your HDD functionality would be crippled.
kidman64
banned according to the help desk, but xval shows that everything's fine - have not connected since the day 3 of banhammer

Why is it useless. While its not 100% perfect, I think its a fairly good indication. Unless I am missing something here.

Nice tool Redline. Thanks.
piojo
does someone succeded in requesting a repair on xbox.com?

and I mean on the us site, because in any other site it works for me.
mogwaimon
I have clean Secdata, last logged into Live the night that the Left 4 Dead 2 demo was released to all Gold members...Hell, maybe even one or two days afterward as well, AND I have error 54420 on the support site. I'm also running Hitachi 1.51.

That's just the background download option being enabled on the 360. Just disable it in console options and your 360 will shut down immediately.
wickedd
what is encrypted X value and where can I get it? thanks

i got: Secdata decryption error

does i do something wrong?
