MaxConsole released a video of an upcoming product by ZooZen for the Xbox 360. This 'Overcase' will fit around your current case and should cost around 50usd.

I like the way it looks, i might but it just so that i can turn it black. My entertainment system, tv, surround sound system, ps3 and everything else is black. my xbox kinda sticks out.

If I were to buy one of these, I would still make sure to remove the x-clamps before using this case though.

Seems like it would be really awkward to move/assemble, and doesn't look like a very sturdy design...

And what about the front USB ports? I dont see an opening anywhere for those... perhaps extended ports are integrated into the case?

Kinda Lame, Not really a full replacement case. Looks like it replaces the front face plate and hides the original 360.

True, but it does look pretty slick/sleek. Plus it offers 2 additional fans on the side. If you don't move your xbox much, this looks like it'd be a pretty nice investment. I wonder if those lights are really blue, or if it depends on your actual ring of light? If they are blue, i'd imagine it would extend the USB ports because it'd have to get a power feed from somewhere to light the blue lights up.

So you can make an already big ass overheating console , into a even bigger console, no under and back cover?

I like it. Doesn't appear to void warranty (if you care about that) and will match most entertainment centers nicely.

Hi all, long time reader, first time poster.

It looks good, but as to actual effectiveness for me, questionable.

Yes it has 2 xtra fans, which looking at that vid, they seem to extract, this is fine in some cases, but my work on xboxs reveals that it's not only the fact they dont have enough air being extracted, but more importantly they dont have enough air going into the case in the first place.
The 2 main fans within an xbox are clearly geared to cool the cpu/gpu, offering very little in the way of system cooling, and now I know some of you will say, "but this has 2 more xtracting" - to which i would say, "yeah, extracting over the main intake vent!"

Seems to me that this "over" case doesnt have enough vents in it for intake.
If one wants to make their white case blend in with ones black entertainment equipment, then this is a good idea.
For those wanting to use this as a means of prolonging 360 lifespan.. Better solutions available.

a bit pointless, doe to the way it is done, it looks more like it is going to make ventilation worse.

My thoughts exactly , with forced air pushing in on the CPU side would only make the actual system fans run at a slower speed cause it's cooling the thermostat and still leaves the GPU to cook

Personally, I think its butt ugly. Doesnt look like it would be easy to move around. Can't see front USB ports.

I've seen case mods here that would literally blow this away, but I guess its not a full case replacement so it more for looks and a little more cooling.

It just a concept as you can see, i'm sure the USB ports will be made available. It looks great but its prob not a good idea if you like to keep your xbox alive. It would prob work better just using it as a case replacement.

I'm not even totally positive about that either. If you took your 360 out of the case and mounted it on a wall, the lack of air moving across the surface would toast your mobo. I don't think a bigger case would really help the 360 unless it had MASSIVE airflow.

I dont care about ventalation, im still not wrapping my system around something else.

An exaggeration maybe, but restricting the airflow into a console that's already prone to overheating doesn't seem like a good idea.

Now a replacement case with an extra fan built in blowing air into the GPU side as well as larger, more powerful outtake fans I would pay money for. The closest thing to that is the Lian Li case.

Impressive indeed. Would make my Xbox 360 look good sitting between my 50 inch Plasma & PS3 . Actually the Piano black look just unifies the entire ambience.

I agree would work nice as an entire case replacement and bring it up to a sophisticated look. I think if it was and you go topless it would provide plenty of circulation.

i did exactly that, black spray paint and sprayed mine...blends perfectly with the rest of my home entertainment stuff now

I kinda see this is for fucking idiots who can't take apart their 360 or want to void the warranty. But if you're smart enough to come accross this, you're smart enough to know about a hair dryer and wax paper.

That big ass blue "dial" doesn't dial in shit. It looks like it's supposed to be a receiver. I have one of those.

And the major point I'll just stop on. cuz I mean I could rip this shit to shreds for the next two hours. but, anyone stand their 360 up??

i think this is really just a concept video since it doesnt even have a release date yet.. pretty sure this thing will be a FULL case to go around it... it'll probly have a bottom and back for more support i really don't think they would sell something so 3 sided like that it would break in a few days.. and for USB ports it probly has 2 wires on the inside that you would plug in while installing the case to extend them under a hidden door or something.. do you people really think these people took over a year to design a peice of shit.. come on! their not M$ they are a group of taiwan technicians who's life depends on cheap, high quality work

i have a case design i decided not to go w/ (~18mos ago...) because of the size, but mine was going to be a replacement case for the 360 and make it to be stereo component size w/ more fans above and below..but again, it just got too big.

don't really get the idea of this - the 360 is already in 2 cases in its current state, why add a 3rd?

what ever the final result they should make it so you can adjust the fan speed. i do like the overall design though.

May I just add....

They have number that light up blue to correspond to the controller plugged in. Lets think about that.

1. If they use their own led then how do they know whats connected?

2. Are they using just blue plastic over the current ring of lights? So RROD is purple? Then they'd have to be careful about matching the blue to their own led lighting throughout the extra case.

3.They have no idea what they are doing.

4. Those extra fans better be damn quiet. And reversible so its intake. (Unless they got the animation wrong. But then they don't pay attention to detail so it'll be disappointing anyway.)
