I have xbox 360 that i lost his DVD KEY...

I have win7 ultimate and i want use my xbox as MCE to play Divx and MKV content w/ subtitles... does anyone have detailed guide how to do it?

Is it possible to do it ????

You could try http://ps3mediaserver.blogspot.com/ it works well tested on sd and hd mkv with srt & muxed mkv subtitles.

no advanced setup , just install ,and set directory to share, than go to your x360 and you should see ps3 media server, just select movie and njoy

I connect my box from the regular connection wizard in MCE and its work.

but i still cant view srt files in the movies...

any help from here???

HANDBRAKE has to be the best converter for Xbox 360 - is ad free and isn't mac exclusive. You can find it in google. There's a preset for 360. And PS3. and your iphone 3Gs, 4, Ipad 2, etc.

I tried handbrake long time ago, couldn't get it to work.

I use VUZE. It does 360 sharing/streaming and converting.

I revisited Handbrake and installed the latest 0.9.5 but I see there's no Xbox 360 profile. I tried my best guess and it does convert but still no play on 360. Gives the DON"T symbol and unable to play msg. I did however convert a few videos to play on my XBMC - 1080X528, MPEG4, 23FPS looked pretty good.

Also tried TVersity, seems to work good for streaming/shared video folders. Apparently it's supposed to convert and do youtube and stuff but haven't looked into any of that. Still Vuze is the only app that converts automatically to 360 but sometimes even that doesn't work all the time or the audio goes out of sync, mostly on very large 1080P videos.

Last time I checked you can't play mkv on xbox360 but could be wrong.
