sooooooooooooo...
is there a way to navigate through the X3 bios WITHOUT the normal xbox controllers?? I dont have them, and all I have is the IR remote....
this is a fresh install BTW

Assuming that you tried it with no success, it is probably not possible. I also just tried it myself with X3 config live. It didn't work on mine either, so it looks like you might need to hit up Gamestop or ebay to try and pick up a cheap controller. That said, it is probably a good idea to keep at least one controller around just incase something with the xbox goes wrong and you need to use X3 Config live to fix it.
