Hey everyone. My 360 recently got the RRoD and my disc drive stopped working. I fixed the RRoD issue, but still have to flash the disc drive. I was going to use Ixtreme but found out I will get banned if I use it. But that doesn't matter, because I can't even get my new drive into ModeB. I bought a separate PCI card and hooked it up and booted using Slax. It says while its booting that ata2 wont boot, so it gives up and continues with the booting process. When I restart I can see the disc drive in windows, but it won't eject or anything like that. So I guess my first question is, what other method should I use to flash it so I don't get banned, and how (if I have to) can I get into modeB without using the wire trick. Thanks!

use jungleflasher, it does everything, no slax or wire trick. it even comes w/ directions.

Thats what I just tried to use. But apparently I can't use this PCI card to put it into ModeB, I need a sata to USB cable? Is this correct?

Pc or laptop ?
guessing pc
try hooking directly to sata on motherboard and use the winapi option in JF and detect your drive
make sure you have right port properties on the left
if you are hooking to your pci card follow instructions on how to uninstall driver , disable and install portio

If you bought the same DVD drive you can just change out the boards. The old board has the DVD key you are looking for and no reason to read and flash the new one. This should work for all versions of Hitachi drives.
