NXE2GOD v1.0
Posted by XanTium | January 15 18:04 EST | News Category: Xbox360

Team XeDev released a new version of NXE2GOD, an application for homebrew 360s that will converts NXE installed games to Games on Demand.

What's new/fixed:
* Fixed issue where if you had more than one game with the same titleid, then converting the games would result in all games using that titleid being deleted except for one.
* Now have 100% compatibility with ALL games.
* Improved interactive interface with useful output.

I was wondering if using this method to run stuff had problems with Title Updates like XeXLoader does.
SkyFire360
So I'm still confused a bit... is there any advantage of using NXE to do the install and then using NXE2GOD to have the NoCD ability versus installing the game straightaway with XexLoader besides just not having to launch XexLoader?

Also, how does this NXE2GOD/XexLoader work with multi-CD games like Lost Odyssey?
mrdude2478
Thanks for the update m8, it's working fine for me now with a previous game it wasn't with before - The saboteur so I am happy.

Cheers.

I know for games like Dead Rising, Silent Hill Homecoming, COD World at War, The New Jurassic Park game, just to name a few suffer from game data files being too many and too small.

This makes it take forever to copy and/or not copy at all. (strong experience with COD WAW)

With this, you can have the game in chuncks of 162 MB files which are easily copied, moved and transfered between devices. And being console free, makes it perfect to install to other homebrew xboxes as well.

One more advantage is that you may delete the game from NXE instead of having to run XeXLoader and find the folder, select to delete that and the shortcut in /Content/0000000000000000/C0DE9999/00007000/GAMENAME

At least for this this works alot better than files in HDD and shortcuts... unless it's Halo 3 and I'm hacking the hell out of the maps
xmugen360
It took me awhile to get it but thanks for this app even better it is update already...personally i really like the performance...

I want so much to try halo mods...i played killtackular killyrocity map packs they were awesome

After reading this I installed forza 3, used nxe2god - run the game, installed disc 2, rebooted the game and everything works fine without needing a dvd. try reinstalling m8 as I can confirm forza 3 works great.

I am still using the first version released a couple of days ago. I just want to burn the games that weren't compatible with the first one. Can I just run this version with the games that didn't work before because I don't want to rerip the games already on the hard drive?
Jhantos
let's hope the next version works for Xbox Original games
niai
xbox orig support would be sweat

Any instructions on how to fix games that were broken with 0.2 without having to recopy them all?

Yes there is. I don't know how he going to do it, but I'm sure he will figure out how. Plus achievements will still show up according to what the author said.

When you ran NXE2GOD it saved the original container in a folder called "original" in the same directory as the game is installed. Just use XeXLoader to move it back into place and rename the folder by replacing the 7 with a 4 in the 000X0000 directory where X should now be a 4.
XxErrorxX
you can get it to support arcade games? make arcadedemos the full game and remove consoll / live-user info?
problem_child
I just want to use this for the games that didn't work with the first release. Will this mess up any games already on the hard drive because I don't want to delete everything and rip it again.

And how do I rename a folder on the 360 HDD? I can create a new folder but I can't rename the folder from 00007000 to 00004000 and just moving the original file back doesn't work, the game disappears from the list as soon as I try to see it after runnign NXE2GOD again. What a pain this is, only way to rename would be to copy teh whole game (7GB) to usb stick go to PC rename and copy back, might as well just rip the game again......
dstruktiv
Old NXE2GOD V0.1 and V0.2 leaves folder structure like this:

Content\00000000000000000\titleid\00007000
Content\00000000000000000\titleid\00007000\LIVEFILE
Content\00000000000000000\titleid\00007000\LIVEFILE.data
Content\00000000000000000\titleid\00007000\original\CONFILE

What you want to do is use XexLoader to CREATE:

Content\00000000000000000\titleid\00004000

Then MOVE CONFILE and LIVEFILE.DATA in to there so you end up with:

Content\00000000000000000\titleid\00004000\LIVEFILE.data
Content\00000000000000000\titleid\00004000\CONFILE

Then the game will be back to the original NXE version. You can now run NXE2GOD V1.0 to convert it properly.

Or just re-rip if you find that easier.

V1.0 should be the final release so you don't have to worry about it anymore, if you've been holding off ripping your game collection like I know some people have then it's now safe to go ahead and do it.
xmugen360
um dstrultiv thanks for clear instructions...i kinda went on a burning binge when 0.2 came out kinda regretting it now dont want to rerip should there be anything in the 00007000 foder at all should i just delete it? also what happens if i dont do all this file fixing will something bad happen?

nvm followed instructions all good
LtDan313
Does this version work with Cygnos360 and Freeboot? Someone please help me.
dstruktiv
The file fixing is ONLY for games that you ripped and tried to convert with v0.1 or v0.2 that DIDN'T work - It just saves you having to re-rip them. If they DID work the there's no need to do the above.

No this cannot be used with FreeBoot - I suggest you switch to XBR as it's currently a lot better than FreeBoot.
Lush
it will be nice to see a solution such as this for games installed on external usb hdd... Quickboot with achievements would be great!

You *can* run it from FreeBoot but you need to patch hack.bin to match that of the recent XBR version:

Thanks to Fatum@XBH - personally have tested with Falcon and Xenon - both work with GoD containers after doing this.

NXE2GOD doesnt work with a cygnos360 V2 and freebootv0.0.2

I found a tut here how to install XBR 0.0.5 on a Cygnos360 V2 with FW 1.03b
After running XBR NXE2GOD works like a charm. I even didn't have to reinstall the games. They simply started to run. No more "...download again.." error.

Thanks a lot for making this !!!!

Or you could have just clicked on the link in the post above yours, made one change to the hack.bin and write it back.... smile.gif

Thanks again for instructions, all games that wouldn't work like The Simpsons and Gears of War now boot. I had one more question is it possible to install older games like Guilty Gear XX Reload or any xbox 1 games I own with this. They were on the backwards compatibility list, also is it safe to use the compatibility file from xbox.com?

What is the difference between the LIVE and the XEX versions?
oedi103
I have tried 0.1 and 1.0 and with every game I try it says re-download when I try to start it.I am using XBR on a Xenon Board and the LIVE Version but I have also tried the XEX Version without success. What could be the problem? My DVD drive is not the best anymore, should try to exchange it and see if there is any difference but when I install the game and run off hdd with the disk inserted it works so it should work as GOD as well.??
dstruktiv
If you're running XBR3 and NXE2GOD V1.0 then this works, I know for a fact there have been no games reported as not working and there's no bugs in the code any more lol.

I suggest using XexLoader to browse to Content\0000000000000000\titleid\ and deleting everything under it for all of your games.

Then do fresh rips with NXE (If it rips with NXE successfully then your DVD drive is fine) then running NXE2GOD.
oedi103
Thanks for the quick help dstruktiv I realised I am still running an older version of xbr. Will update now and try again, sure it will work then smile.gif
Big Thanks as well for your work and the great application(s) !Good on ya mate biggrin.gif

Update:Works sweet with XBR3 ,thanks soo much its great !

Anyone?

Anyone?

The live package is a demo that can be run directly from the xbox dash. The xex version has to be run from xexmenu or xexloader.

How do I get this to work? I installed a game through NXE for a test (Perfect Dark Zero), it's on my SATA drive.

I've tried doing two methods but neither work
1)I put NXE2GOD (from Live folder ofthe NXE2GOD rar) folder, but it doesn't pick up on the application list because it shares the same folder name as XeXMENU (CODE9999/0080000/) . the folder or file is named NXE2GOD after the 0080000 folder, is that the issue?

2)I think the NXE2GOD runs if I do default.xex, but I had to use Gamecheater(?) 5.1 to "Fix it" for it to boot, I don't know if this is the reason, but after running NXE2GOD and trying to boot the game, it tells me I need to redownload the game that the patch was applies to

You need to copy the live file to "CODE9999/00080000/NXE2GOD". That's how I have it and it picks it up just fine. It does not matter how many files are in the "00080000" folder. NXE2GOD live is hard coded to only run from that folder"
djricekcn
yeah, that isn't working for me for whatever reason. Only XeXMENU gets picked up.

Guys does this work with mutli-disc games?
seaweavil
I was wondering if it is okay to rip games to NXE with my JTAG console. I thought I had read somewhere to never put a game disc in the dvd drive of my JTAG console cause it could potentially ruin my hack. Is this true? And can I indeed put game discs in my JTAG box because it's kind of a pain to put them in another console, rip it to my hard drive and then back to the other console. Thanks.

As for the people who are having issues with NXE2GOD live, I also had the same problems so I downloaded the file again and then I went through all the folders and copied only the NXE2GOD file and pasted it in the same directory as XEXmenu or XEX loader Content\0000000000000000\CODE9999\00080000\ and this is where you should put the NXE2GOD file.

As of now, there are no automatic updates in games, so as long as you say no to update requests, you're safe. If the RT63 transistor has been removed from your console, you're safe anyway.

It hasn't, never heard anything about that yet. Maybe I will have to do some research. Thanks

I think a good question now is:

Will NXE allow you to install to HDD games that contain update greater than the current dash installed? blink.gif

We don't have a game that requires higher then dash 8955 yet. When a new dash version is out you can bet the team will get out an update.
holyjewsus
Is this a known issue, After exiting to the dash from a game that is installed with nxe2god, none of my nxe2god games will load and pop up an error. If I reboot I can play any of them, but only one. I have an XBR_3 Falcon.
