My 360 got knocked over. The drive wouldn't open anymore. So I opened it to see what was jamming it. I cleaned it put new grease on the gears. I played with it some more and if the top plate is on all the way it wont open at all if its up a little it will open fine. I looked on the underside of the top plate and nothing is scratched. I don't see anything catching.

Any ideas?

I dnt no wat could be stopping your drive from opening.
Maybe the dvd case got dented or slightly bent.
Jus get another top, xcm maybe??

I think that the tray holding the laser is not dropping down but not sure an xcm would be nice. When I lift the back up it works, something is catching in the back

U will jus have to try and opening the dvd drive with the top case on and inspect where it is gettin caught.
How about replacing the motor that controls the laser?

Finally got it to work, I cut the whole back off end so whatever was stopping it aint any more.

That's good you should cover the back with something to avoid dust getting on the laser.
