I have a jtaged console, and was trying to use the ftp feature on xexmenu to transfer a game to the HDD, how ever it was so slow. like 3 hours. Both pc, and 360 are wired units, so therefore I would assume that it should be a 100 mbps connect, how ever it was closer to 600 k

Make sure you turn PASV mode off, I am using FlashFxp and get average of 4-6 MBPS.

Yeah, I use a USB HDD because it's so slow. Adding apps or organizing files is mainly what I use FTP for. If you don't have a USB HDD of at least 8gb I guess slow FTP is your only option.

you can get 8mb/second if you use filezilla as your client
in filezilla settings change
edit\settings\ftp\ change to active mode
edit\settings\transfers change to 10 connections
now it will transfer 10 files at a time at around 800kb/second for each file totalling around 8mb/second

In general, take 'rated' speeds with a grain of salt. When you see quotes like 10/100 Mbit, that is theoretical maximum throughput. Actual speeds will be lower (even accounting for the conversion from Mbit to MByte).
The people recommending turning off PASV mode and upping max connections are giving you good advice. However, you'll only want to use these settings on servers within your local network.

Is that the passive mode until Connection->Proxy?
I get faster speeds using cuteftp, but it errors often. Flashfxp is more stable, but it's fairly slow. I don't see where to change number of connections.

flashFXP is far from slow...
i get 10Mbyte/Sec on my xbox with flashfxp
360 games take max 10 minutes to upload.
disable passive mode in the site manager, options tab.
edit
leave the number of connection at 1.
transferring more files at once will not increase your speed.

yeah it was just running slow due to some of the generic settings that it defaulted with.
It's cranking out at 10mb now so it's working great.
Thanks.

Using PASV mode in FlashFXP, i can go upto 8/9Mbs.
Gonna disable it to see if it improves speed or not. Thanks for the tip guys.

I there any default settings (other than active mode) in flashFXP that should be changed?

Using FlashFXP QuickConnect, you can uncheck the box for Passive Mode in the Toggles Tab.

I have problems with any ftp program other than flashfxp.
For some reason i can read folders fine with filezilla but cant create any folders uploading,
it only works per file rather than a whole folder if that makes sense?
downloading from xbox works fine.
Any suggestions as my trial is about to run out for fxp?
