I did a search on xbox-scene and stumbled across this topic. I'm essentially doing what this gentleman is doing:

tl/dr Version:

I plan on obtaining two xboxes; one modded, the other not. The modded one will never go online and therefore (hopefully) never get banned. I will switch hard drives between the unmodded box to the modded one to maintain gamer score. The individual in the previous topic (linked above) tried this but, because he had an update on his hard drive, was prompted to install security updates on the modded/offline xbox.

My question proceeds from here: Is the prompt saying to connect the modded box online to get the update (a no no) or is it prompting the user to allow the update to be installed offline from the hard drive to the modded box?
