hello all, I'm hoping i'm not reopening an old topic, but I didn't find my question in the first few pages I looked... I got a softmodded xbox with a 500 gig HD running fine...What I am doing with it, is I am setting it up to watch movies, I have been trying different programs to rip and convert dvd's.. I like the dvd2xbox, but in the end you have a 4-8 gig file, I would be happier with a 1-2 gig file, it is on a standard tv.. I was wondering if someone would let me know of programs they have tried and settings that worked well, thanks guys..

I haven't tried that one yet, I used to use it way back in the past... I'll give it a whirl.

if you have a fast PC (works on slow PCs too, if your patient

) you can use auto gordian knot to cover the movies to xvid, i usually convert a 90 minutes movie to a 700mb file

I use DVDfab platinum to rip DVD's to xvids of 700-900mb, i started using AutoGK but find DVDfab easier and quicker to use - either way its a slow process but then allows you to stores lots on a medium sized hdd.

I've been using DVD fab, it seems to work, I set it to the generic mobile function, change to xvid and let it rip, is there a better setting?
