what tutorial are you using? also try reflashing the first 50 blocks.
nandpro lpt: xbr.bin 0 50
then inject key
nandpro lpt: kv.bin 1 1
if xbox doesn't boot it usually means there is something wrong with the first 50 blocks, if it is not your wiring.
of course needles to say check your wiring.

HowTo:
1) Extract KV and Config blocks from orig.bin nandpro orig.bin: -r16 rawkv.bin 1 1
nandpro orig.bin: -r16 rawconfig.bin 3de 2
2) Inject those blocks into XBR.bin nandpro XBR.bin: -w16 rawkv.bin 1 1
nandpro XBR.bin: -w16 rawconfig.bin 3de 2
3) Flash result nandpro lpt: -w16 XBR.bin
heres an odd thing to, when extracting my kv it came out as KB.BIN no idea why.
Currently, trying to reflash the image back...if wiring was incorrect, i should not have gotten the nand to begin with correct?
Hit me up on yahoo messenger @ vb_encryption_vb if you need.

never mind sorry...
just extract the key vault again from the original..
you never wrote back your kv
you never did
nandpro XBR.bin: -w16 rawkv.bin 1 1
or nandpro lpt: -w16 rawkv.bin 1 1

I have 4 dumps of the NAND. I'm going to try your method of writing the first 50 blocks first then inject kv

Just checked out the link you posted which led me to a tutorial that you wrote, I checked that out and dumped the kv a few times to compare, should have done that the first time as this time around i got the KV file instead of some shti called kb, currently writing the nand back, hopefully this work. This is just a text xbox that i got from a customer with no dvd rom drive so im not to worried about trashing it before i do anymore...

Have you now got the 8955 dash (under system settings - console then at the bottom of that list you'll see summit like kernel 2.0.XXXX. etc), and just to confirm, try booting the console with the eject button - hey voila - Xell

Yup already in it, only problem was I had no drive to boot into xell. Found a few locally though, all is good now.
