Dxbx v0.1 Alpha has been released. Dxbx is a Delphi port based on Cxbx(info), an Xbox1 Emulator for PC:

It has been a long time since the last release.. (Xmas 2008).
But now its time to show the world what has been done since the last time.

So thats why the new release 0.1 Alpha is there.

What has been fixed..
- Game logos are shown in the main form and can also be exported.
- The dll`s don`t need to be copied annymore to the game folders. ( this because of Xbe Loading ).
- No more creating exe files, we run the xbe files instead of converting the xbe to exe.
- We use our own dll files, not working with the cxbx dll`s
- XBEExplorer(info), a new tool for looking into xbe files like a PE Header viewer, then for xbe files.
- XDKTracker game list has been updated..

This are some features i can think of.. so now you can take a look also with this new setup.
REMEMBER .. THIS IS STILL ALPHA -- NO PLAYABLE STUFF --

We are still hard working on it.. and prehaps we can make a full 0.1 version..
But for now its still ALPHA !!

Nice to see an emulator in development for Xbox. Gamecube emulation is way ahead of xbox, they need to catch up.

When I read this...I was thinking..when they can get retail games running with this bad boy...Somebody could port it to the 360 for homebrew boxes for full backwards compatibility. That would be pretty badass.
MadMaxGR
How does it actually works? Do i make images of my discs on the PC hard drive to play them or it recognise teh disks in the DVD drive direct??
steveo1978
I am thinking the game would have to be extracted to your PC. Might give this a try later on and I will post back.

hehe, after this is stable we can port it to x360 muhahahha smile.gif
iceman2048
Haha that'd be hilarious, port it to xbox 360. Think about it, the homebrew scene is able to achieve that M$ couldn't do on their own consoles tongue.gif

Will not work unfortunally. This emulator (and Cxbx) works by converting the XBE to a Windows executable. It isn't actually emulating the x86 CPU, and the Xbox 360 is PowerPC.

Actually if you had read the OP it says clearly

"No more creating exe files, we run the xbe files instead of converting the xbe to exe."

But I doubt this will run full games anytime soon, I'd like to see more effort into getting the built-in MS xbox1 emu working with jtag consoles.

Vary cool to hear that this project isn't dead.
Maybe someday we can launch XPort emus with this.. smile.gif

Yes I read that, I assumed it meant that instead of saving an exe you load it into memory changing whatever needs to be changed. Well it's a bit more technical than that.
But still, I believe Dxbx is tied to the x86 platform.

uhhhh why would you want an emulator to emulate another emulator?
Admittedly I like and am used to the GUI's. But still makes no sense to me

Why would you want to convert Cxbx to Delphi? What a waste of time!

Just for skinning/testing purposes..

Well this is good news. I was wondering what happened to the project. I imagine once the project gets to a certain point it will really start to takeoff.
