Just got a really annoying PS3 40gb here that loves running at full pelt, it has a busted sensor as I have carefully cleaned it, reflowed it, and applied thermal paste on it (several times infact as I thought my original application was bad). Yet this bastard is a hair dryer.

has anyone got any ideas on how to fix this sensor, I know I could make a fan mod but because the PS3 fan is of high amps it requires some seriously beefy resistor to dissipate the wattage.

Any input would be welcome.

Why do you think that is an option or a cure?

You ,may have contaminated the heat sink compound under the GPU heat shield.
