Im buying a core cooler soon but i dont want it running off of the 12v dvd drive power. Can i split the positive and negative wires from the 5v fan power supply and it not cause and problems? or is there another way? i just dont want the fans being to loud from the 12v.

I power my core v2 from the dvd drive they are not loud at all.

Ill go with what you said. ive barley seen any complaints about them being loud.

core coolers v2 run on 5volts anyway but id still solder them to the board because they can screw up your dvd drive because of taking power from it
