* Copy the "freestyle" folder into the root of USB0: or HDD1:

* If you wish to launch from disc choose and burn the appropriate launch image.
o freestyle-usb.iso - cd image to boot freestyle from usb0:\freestyle\freestyledash.xex
o freestyle-hdd.iso - cd image to boot freestyle from hdd1:\freestyle\freestyledash.xex

* Copy the proper boot package to hdd1:\Content\0000000000000000\C0DE9999\00007000\ to have it show in the NXE Dashboard.
o freestyle-usb - package to boot freestyle from usb0:\freestyle\freestyledash.xex

i have the oldest xbox360, the one without HDMI (dont remember the name)
5 minutes with freestyle dashboard in IDLE and my temps are:
CPU: 59.5 ºC
GPU: 42.5 ºC
RAM: 43.1 ºC
MB : 18.3 ºC
fan speed: 80% (i allways used 60%, but since i play with z-5500 logitech surround i can go up to 80% )

is this good? or, not RROD risking

and my temps without any fanspeed adjust in Freestyle (3-2 release) is

CPU: 58-60 ºC
GPU: 55-57 ºC
RAM: 55-59 ºC

I wonder why is it so much higher then yours on a older board?

this is with room temp is around 20-21 ºC

that is super hot. water boils at 100! and our body temperture is around 40 im pretty sure you got your units mixed up

i dunno mate :S all i can says is that it came from microsoft warranty and i removed the metal case in the top so i can fit a 2.5 HDD over DVD drive. also i removed some plastic imperfections in top case otherwise i couldnt get xbox360 to close. other than that i dunno.

wow. just wow. big steps being taken all the time by the freestyle crew. this looks great. i know what i'll be doing when i get home from work.

also, +1 for the idea of incorporating the indexer into the dash. that would be rad to be able to connect the box directly to the fsindexer art source and download straight to console.

Development is going so fast, this is great. Yeah, the integrated indexer would be sweet.

I currently have 2 external hdds that hold my extracted discs. XBLA Games are held on the main 360 hdd.

Now I currently have it set up to display the artwork etc from the USB so the fsdata is on the USB Drive. That way it would obv be indexed for that drive specifically to show only what exists on that drive.

Now......2 things.

1. IF I was to have my fsdata held on the 360 itself......when the freestyle is launched....will it auto be set to only display those games that are currently available on the inserted hdd? Could this cause other problems, ie by screwing up the xml report for fsdindexer each time the hdd is changed?

2. Secondly, XBLA.....now in my other posts I made and released a full XBLA preview trailers collection. At the moment I have it running off one of the hdds, and obv there is no problems there as such. But ideally I dont want to have to dupicate those few gb of trailers for each hdd I have to use (and each as get a new game).......so I'm wondering....and depending on the answer to if #1 is not possible.....to have XBLA previews/info set to gather on the main 360 hdd, and the disc based titles info to run off the usb?

Ideally I'd rather have everything held on the main 360 hdd as there is plenty spare space for that freeing up the more useful usb space....but I can foresee problems after running index for usb drive 1, and then inserting usb drive 2 it overwriting the xml files meaning that everytime I swapped the drive I'd in effect have to run fsdindexer again and again?

I am getting crazy artifacts at the top and bottom after updating to RC1

how do i have to alter the content.xml to get games show up again with the new build?
i spent hours to rename the games correct and add proper screenshots, backgrounds, german game descriptions etc. and now i have to delete my content.xml and rescan with the new fsindexer?
is there any other way?

Very nice update, really like the fanspeed control and the led color by temp. Very nice work to all involved. Now we just need the skin guys to incorporate all the nice new features into their skins.

Fanspeed control works for 512 Jasper. However, I am having issues where the console has stopped booting.. (after about 3 tries it boots, sometimes more/less). My DB1F1 point isn't exactly the greatest (need to fix by soldering to alternate point)... Doubt it's related to freestyle.. I'm guessing it's just a crazy coincedence it started happening after I upgraded to this version, as I can't see how it can affect booting.


P.S. No, I don't have dashlaunch.

SetTempLEDS() needs to be called periodically and not only when setting the "by temperature" setting!

once settet to auto, one can hear a differenct fansound when starting freestyledash! i guess when booting the xbox, fan speed is set to "microsoft auto fan speed".
obiusly, freestyledash autofanspeed is not the same!

The auto is the stock auto setting. The tempLeds wont update outside of FSD right now. They will only update when a temp changes ranges causing the color to change. And you have to reload the skin after enabling the temp led setting.

I agree the temp and led adjust are a fantastic feature!

Anybody know why my GOD 360 games don't show up in the 360 menu in the indexer anymore, so it won't redownload etc. Their listed ok on the dash

How do you move items to another menu, I would like to move GenesisPlus360 to the Emulators section.

1 Glitch I found:

If you enter Games or XBLA and press "Y" for Genres, console will lock up. You must power off.

This is using skins that were released with this version of FreeStyle as well as "Conexxion" Skin.

The base skin is really to get everything lined up for the skinners. But trust me some of the skins in development right now are amazing.




This has already been fixed and will be updates soon.

I used GOD2ISO to create an ISO of my emulators that were in GOD format then used Mulleter to extract them to a folder which would contain the xex file. Add them to the emu folder and freestyle will see and list it

I am glad to see a team picked this up instead of the lone ranger in the beginning. Maybe in the near future it will be impressive enough to totally replace the NXE as the main dash. I am going to try this when i get my next Jtaggable 360. I only got to play for 3 days before i had it sold.

I think i may have found a bug but im not sure??: If you have a multi disk game such as Blue Dragon in GOD form, on NXE it will list as this:

...
Blue Dragon Disk 1
Blue Dragon Disk 2
Blue Dragon Disk 3
...

but when freestyle is loaded, it lists it as simply "Blue Dragon", If you run "Blue Dragon" from Freestyle, it seems to load Disc 3... Is there any way you could simply make it list all 3 discs? Or better yet: ASK which disc you would like to load if there are more than 1? It looks as if there is some system in place to recognize multi disk games and rename them accordingly, but when they are run it just auto loads the final disc.

Oh, not so sure if this is the place to mention this but I will anyways.

I noticed that in all versions of FreeStyle Dash, if you delete your game from NXE, FreeStyle will still register as available, and if you launch it, well, of course it will fail to dash since the game is not there.

It seems that the scranning goes into this: deviceX:\Content\0000000000000000\GAMEID\00007000\

guess what, if you made your game from NXE2GOD than this folder will not be deleted because of the \00007000\backup\GAMEIDETC


I have to either delete full folder of GAMEID or delete the 00007000 folder in order to not show in FreeStyle.

I just think I should address this so that it can be considered.

One issue that has been in Freestyle from the beginning is if you hover over the Hombrew tab or the Emulators tab, the text "Homebrew" or "Emulators" begins to shake left and right. You need to be hovering over it for a few seconds. I can't be the only one thats noticed this?

yes i can confirm FSD auto option runs at completely different speeds, you can hear it by the frequency the fan produces.
once set to auto the speed drows very low and the temperature rises rapidly. as a result the fanspeed goes up too, but seems to be alway one step behind the rising temperature. this results in the temp stabilising at a very high value and the fan running faster and louder than with "MS Auto".
With the xbox controlling the fan speed like in the old FSD releases the temperature stays lower AND the fan is more silent!
So don't tell me it's the same auto!

No offence, but for me this means back to an older version as long as this isn't fixed, as it really annoys me.

I'm hoping they move to a newer version of the XDK soon so I can contribute.
