I'm flashing a stock ver. 79 hitachi using jungleflash 1.7 and I'm using VIA ports only and Port I/O because I'm using a VIA 6421. Since I'm using VIA 6421 and not using WIN API as jftut tell me to, how will I know when the drive inquires on I/O when setting mode B if I do not receive a drive letter or show up in the drive list?

Also what is the jungle flash firmware pack I need?

Also does anyone know where I can find the firmware pack, I can't find it on xbins? Also, do I need to remove my VIA 6421 drivers if I'm flashing an hitachi using JF 1.72?

First things first.
Are you using a ck3 connector kit at all?
For Hitachi drives I find using windows API a lot easier personally.

There are 2 ways to flash it:
one using Windows API (this means you leave the VIA drivers installed)
The other is using PORT IO which means you must remove the VIA drivers.

So in your case you must remove them...But again I would advise using the Windows API way instead.

I'm not sure if the JF firmware pack is on xbins but the firmwares for all drives are there. go into the firmware folder on xbins and find the hitachi firmware for you drive. DL it and save it to the firmware sub folder under JF. If you are not sure what FW to dl just get all of them and dump them in the firmware folder. All the JF firmware pack is just all firmwares for all drives in a zip file.
