What exactly are my options here?

From what i read, i have 2 choices.

Cut the 2 leads, solder a switch, and i would be able to flash with my Ich7

or

get ahold of a VIA chipset sata card, unsure of the exact one, and i should be able to flash it without cutting the traces

are my assumptions here true, or am i being mislead?

I realize i posted this in the general forum also, but when i posted there, i thought i was here, and am unsure of how to delete a post.

Have a problem here....your title says Benq Flash, but your talking about flashing a liteon from what I've just read...Unless your reading some really old tutorials on Benqs but I don't recall any trace cutting..Benq and Liteon DVD ROM trays look identical btw.

This is a guide in which they cut traces: http://caster420.360mods.net/VAD6038/vad6038.pdf

Just Google JungleFlasher and you should find most info needed in the tutorial.

Thanks for the reply, ive read through the jungle flasher manual, and, am unsure at this moment if the ICH7 chipset is supported or if i would need the VIA chipset.

It's Intel, it should be fine, hook up the drive start up jungleflasher and see if it's detected.
