X-S go's down more often than my GF lately 
Are there any plans to upgrade the board software? Would that help? Would be nice to have the search features working too, like Find a member's topics/posts, my last 10 posts.

It goes down for short periods every few months.
If that's more times than your GF, you should look into finding another one.
