Hi all just a quick question, i have recently installed coin ops onto my soft modded xbox. I have included quite a number of the mame roms which i played regularly on mame32 on the pc. The strange thing is once they are transferred over to the xbox only some games run and others don't. For the roms that don't run it says that there are certain files missing, but they aren't as i have just transfered them from my pc.
Any ideas on this would be great.

Your probably using a rom set that too new.
You need a rom set based on a mame 0.84 dat.
CoinOps is actually a rework of an old Xbox emulator port.
It uses much older roms.

Ahh i see so is there a more recent mame emulator version for the xbox that has no problem reading all current roms?

Not mame, but Final Burn alpha. Its called Final Burn Legends by nes6502.
This supports newer rom sets, and plays CPS1,CPS2, Neo Geo, Sega titles & others brilliantly.
Runs full speed with filters on (1080 too) for most games, fully easily skinnable GUI, the list goes on...

it's to bad that we haven't had a core update for mame... really stinks.
