I don't know why but I was sitting here tonight browsing the forums and an old memory popped into my head from fucking nowhere. Do any of you remember the member cheerio and the shit storm that started with him years ago. What ever happened to the kid? I remember hearing rumors of suicide or something like that. And while I'm on the topic, what ever happened to opjose? I remember him for being extremely knowledgeable back in the day.Anyway sorry for the trip down memory lane, carry on.

Maybe he just posts in the dump a lot.

you can figure out how many posts someone really has by looking in their profile and seeing where they are most active, then divide the number of posts by the percentage

in chad000's case its 34/.27 = 126 posts

so yeah, total lurker

Haha yes, people have pointed this out to me before.
It actually came from the original tony hawks pro skater. I wanted to play the game and not have to put my name in, so I mashed a bunch of buttons and yaazz was created.

Yaazz is a good thing. Without it everyone would still be in families of 12 churning butter and combing amish beards.
superfireball123
I don't remember any of that probably because I've only been browsing since 2004 but just joined a couple months ago.

Just got the random inclination to see how the site was doing, and saw this thread. I still remember some of you in this thread. Nice to check back in, haven't done any modding to my 360 though.

How ironic this should pop up when I only just said hi again to Jester last month on another board, not xbox related smile.gif

Do you guys remember when the BST wasn't limited to Xbox related stuff? Those were some good times.

Some of my highlights over the years at XS:

0. June 30, 2002 - I joined to win X-S second contest - 5 XIOS modchips (Xtender 1.1 clones)
1. X-S trading/signature cards.
2. Team Xecuter give away/picture contest. I believe it was something to do with take a picture of yourself with their logo/XS logo near a M$ building/sign.
3. Easybuy2000 - I still never got my refund for my defective matrix w/ pogo pins.
4. Breaking the 137gig limit.
5. X-S t-shirt. I still have mine (1st gen) and wear it proudly!
6. Lik-sang getting shut down.
7. All the rumors about xbox360
8. Xbox360 MT DEW Winners thread (I still hate you guys)
9. EvolutionX - editing that ini
10. XBMC - best media player ever!
11. the usual places - trying to tell newbies about that special place.

I've had a lot of good times on this forum - and really, xbox modding was one of the main reasons I ended up getting into electrical engineering (2nd year now, wooo!), because I enjoyed working with electronics so much. I enjoy modding just as much as I did 6 years ago (though I didnt have an account on these forums back then, I only ever read the main X-s page).

And the place I bought an 80gb drive for my old xbox back in 2004 I got a job at (I asked if there any jobs available while I was buying the drive) and ended up working there for 5 years before going off to uni. Consequently after buying that drive, I learnt all about formatting via FTP via the tutorials on here.

The xbox and these forums, as well as the info the people of X-S have provided over the years will always remembered fondly. Good times cool.gif

oh geez... the memories working on my xbox.
it was v1.0 with a shithompson in it. i got it when i broke my collarbone, had it for a bit, then the hdd dried. gotit fixed at a shop..ended up dying again. got a replacement (v1.6b Halo LE)
sooo modded the old one to put in a new hdd, got a x2.0 lite+, spent forever trying to get that to work.. then i remember the night i was messing, turned it on and saw the cromwell bios, about shit my pants ha. got it reflashed, used slayers to set it up, many times were spent running that and playing nes games. my first thing i ever painted, first thing i put leds in.. learned alot from it. now i can solder good, wiring leds doesnt scare me, i can do good paint jobs with rattle cans...

Hey! Same here! Going onto my 3rd year in Electrical Engineering now happy.gif

Anywho, hello everyone!

I learned so much from X-S and met (if that's even the correct word) some incredibly talented and great people. X-S, like someone mentioned above, was the first site that I ever cared about. hahaha. Man, just posting this brings a feeling of nostalgia laugh.gif

Cheers,
